Only GM, because the local dealer is a personal friend.
You know you never get the best deal from a friend, right?

I would not by a Ford though.

There trucks actually seem to have gotten better over the years. I'm just not a huge fan of American vehicles in general
Not a fan of our language either I see.

In general, I find Asian products are a step behind on design and innovation. I recommend their products if it fits the buyer's circumstance.
Asian marques were long lauded for their quality, but that gap has closed dramatically over the last 5-10 years.
Full-size truck market share is dominated by domestic manufactures and rightfully so.
To answer the question, I buy the best vehicle to fit the need, with a slight bias to American design.

Why innovate when you can replicate. much cheaper than hiring R&D and design folks

I think this hurts them overall and really badly on specific vehicles. (Toyota's Tundra, for example).
That said, a lot of people don't shop features that closely.

if buying a truck, it would be American made
So you'd buy a Tundra, made in Texas or a Chevy made in Mexico?

I always smile at those comments, do they not realize Toyota makes several models in the US that are sold here. Lots of American jobs supported by them, and since there is no union, the quality is much higher overall.

And I smile at comments like yours where you clearly just gloss over the point that you know he's making in an attempt to be funny.

My qualifications are reliable and easy to work on, that's it

A GMC is basically a Chevy with a couple more screws. GM products are POS. Go test drive a Ram then get back at me.

Your entire post is dead-on. I don't drive a pickup. But I see the demand everyday.

I'd buy Ford only cause they didn't take gubment bailout money.

False. They received $5.9 billion in 2009. They just side stepped the wording, and then pushed GM under the bus by attacking them in ads.

I'm looking around right now...Agree that GMC is the best looking truck on the market right now. Definitely most classic looking.
I'm strongly leaning toward RAM. 100k mile powertrain warranty and apparently a few grand more affordable than the GMC equivalent...

There is a reason for that. And don't let the 100k number fool you. Both GM and RAM have 5 year terms on their power train warranty. So unless you average more than 13k miles a year, they are exactly the same length.

The new Chevy's and GMC's are nice. If I were in the market I would get one of those. I have a 2008 Silverado, I have never had one major problem with it. Not one. BUT before I bought it I was going to get a Titan. I am not the type that only buys american. I buy what I like, and what I can afford .

I buy what i like the best at the time.

Plus you can buy a Lifetime bumper to bumper Chrysler Max Care Warranty through the service department at the dealership

in 5 years, we would more than likely be closer to 80K. I have almost always been against a Dodge/Ram whatever...I'm falling prey to their combination of value pricing and pretty features...
