A good friend of mine works for a law firm and consults with a major law enforcement agency re: the trafficking of American girls.

It’s much more common internationally.
But while traffickers definitely operate in the US (as do they globally), little girls are being grabbed from their families here and sold to monsters across the oceans.

It’s a modern day slave trade, and it’s a real nightmare.

When I was at A&M-Corpus Christi I had a classmate of mine get arrested for trafficking people across the Mexican border.

Guy was a young, normal, skinny, surfer-type white dude from a good family.

Was wild to hear about it.

I drive a white van with these locks on all the doors except drivers. I like to stay in the van while my wife talks to strangers outside of nail salons

I was not going to post this story or pictures.. however after telling the story to many people I was encouraged to at least say something JUST IN CASE this was a SEX TRAFFICKING ploy. It's the perfect storm for one. I stopped at Dollar General in Milton off exit 26 for Bagad. It's the Dollar general RIGHT NEXT TO THE INTERSTATE. I had to park on the back side of the parking spots closest to the road because the spots closest to the store were full. I pulled up to a perfectly empty parking spot and parked. I went into the store for maybe 5 minutes to grab somethings. I came out and noticed a blue older looking truck backed into a parking spot one spot over from me, there was an empty space in between us. I only noticed the truck because with all of the snatching of women I will stare down anything to let you know that I see you close to me! Inside the car with the passenger side window rolled down was a Hispanic male behind the steering wheel looking down at his phone and a white male in the passenger seat "talking" on his phone about meeting someone. They were both late 20s early 30s. I get into my car, lock the doors. I go to pull out and hear a very loud bang and my car jarred as I backed out .. I thought what the heck was that?!?! I looked up at the truck and neither of the two men looked up from their phones! I peeked over the top of my cars hood and there was a white box that I ran over while backing up that was not there when I pulled in. These are pictures of what the loud noise was.. something with paint exploded when my tires backed up over it. The box was NOT there when I pulled in. Now.... I am telling this story to say this JUST IN CASE.. the perfect storm is that the location was right next to the interstate, you literally pull out and pull on to the interstate... 2 men in a truck that is backed up makes it very easy to leave quickly so they do not have to back out of the parking space they can just drive off. They never looked up when the box exploded and made a very loud noise.. they were "engaged" on their phones... had I gotten out and walked around to see what I hit ON THEIR SIDE (MY PASSENGER SIDE THAT WAS CLOSEST TO THEIR TRUCK).... maybe I could have been snatched very quickly and been on the interstate to God knows where. I hope this is not the case, but I wanted to share JUST IN CASE.. it's sad we have to worry about this.. but just pay attention to your surroundings and NEVER GET OUT OF YOUR CAR TO INVESTIGATE!!

Recently, Kenzie and I went to the Walmart on Jefferson Hwy near the Huey P. Long bridge. Kenzie and I were in the home section, and I have always been aware of my surroundings from reading sex-trafficking posts, etc. As always, I was looking at the people around me, and I saw a man in the department across from me. While doing this, I noticed the same man again (maybe 5ft in front of me), and this time I made eye contact with him and he quickly turned away and I saw him pull out a flip phone…(My thought of this phone was simply…A flip phone, that’s weird, most people have smartphones in the younger generations.) I checked out and as I was walking out the check-out line, a woman (who’s appearance showed that she may have had a rough few years) stopped me. She was telling me how beautiful my “blonde, curly-haired, blue-eyed little girl, with her pumpkin and ghost dress” was. I felt it in my gut that she was giving a description of my child, to whom…I don’t know, but I immediately felt a pit in my stomach. I proceeded to say “Thank you, “and walk away. This woman then rushed passed me and I saw her pull out her flip phone! I immediately noticed this was the EXACT same flip phone as the man! I looked at Kenzie and told her “when I take you out this buggy, hold on to momma as tight as you can with both arms, and no matter what, do not let go of momma!” When I got into the buggy drop off in the front of the store, I took Kenzie out the buggy. As I was walking towards the exit, a girl, about 19 or 20, was standing next to the candy machines. She stopped me and told me she had an extra quarter that she would like to give Kenzie to get something out the machine. I told her no, we were good, and when I looked down, she had the exact same flip phone in her hand as the previous two people I encountered. I felt like I wanted to vomit and immediately went back inside of Walmart. The older woman followed me back into the store and all the way across the inside of the store. I just kept thinking I needed to get to the cop that was by the other entrance, and this could not be happening to me. I’ve read many posts about it, but never in a million years could this be happening to me. Thankfully, I got to the cop. I told him what was going on and I pointed the lady out to him. This woman was definitely targeting Kenzie and I for God only knows what, she was clearly unhappy that I went to the cop because she got angry, slammed her flip phone and ran back into the store. The officer quickly got us to my car safely and he went back into the store. I’m not sure of the outcome, I hope he got some answers. I do know that I had angels with me that day, and I bawled the whole way home at the thought of what could have happened, or what if I had my nephew and niece with me, how would I have kept them all safe. I thank God, I was not distracted and noticed these people and their damn flip phones. I’m also not 100% sure if these people actually wanted to hurt my child or me, but something was up and I felt it in my bones. As a parent, you have a gut instinct when danger is near, I knew something didn’t feel right and I am so thankful, I wasn’t distracted that day. I knew the only way I was going to EVER walk out of Walmart was with a cop, but I wanted to share my experience in the hopes the hopes that it serves as a reminder to always be aware of your surroundings. Some people have asked me why didn't you stop a worker and tell them...I would have if I didn't know there was a cop at the other entrance, but I knew there was. I am shocked that stuff like this would take place in such a public place with so many people around in broad daylight, but it does. It is scary to think this is the world we live in now, but we must always be aware of what’s going on when we are out in public, especially with our children or when we are alone.
