I like it, wife not as much.

My mother in law lets my wife throw parties at their house whenever my wife wants on a whim. It’s crazy as shite. So I understand why my wife balks at hosting at our house when she has access to a better space and don’t have to worry about her own house before or after.

I like to, occasionally. It’s a good excuse to get things in order around here. Also nice to actually use all the party/entertaining crap that stays stored away and taking up space most of the time. Not something I want to do every weekend or anything. But fun here and there.

I love it. We have a good set up. We do host a few big holidays but love having people over for boils or hanging out.

Older I get the less I like it.Used to do a couple fish fries and couple crawfish boils a year, haven’t had one in a few years now.Actually,I don’t even care about eating boiled crawfish anymore.Wife makes a killer crawfish etouffee, like that.Much prefer boiled shrimp to crawfish.
Now it’s just Thanksgiving and Christmas have a house full, mostly famiy.

Not hardly, couldn't be happier.

Of the two choices, I'd much rather go to someone's house than someone come to my house.

Yes, the overnight guest. That was when we were younger. Now that we're old, we have a few friends and nice get together between four couples is a pretty good time. We're all in our '50s so everybody leaves at a reasonable time too.

Aww hell no. If no one other than my kids and grandkids ever walked thru my door again, I’d be perfectly fine with that. Home is where I go to get away from the world.

We host a lot. We often have dinner parties. We throw parties for different events. Had a retirement party last weekend for a coworker. Crawfish boils. The kids have friends over and we cook for them. We host office holiday parties. We are the primary host for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Pool parties. Love it when invited to someone else's house, but that rarely happens.

My wife (no pics) enjoys hosting. It just becomes more work for me.

We like to host. We have a large NYE party every year where we will have about 70 adults and kids, along with a few other large parties through the year. We decided that spending a few hundred bucks to hire a couple of people to put out food and clean up during a large party is worth the money.
