My wife grew up in the middle of a rice field, her Dad was a farmer worked till late.

Her Mom and sister just as terrified of tree frogs as her (it isn’t normal), they would put plastic dishes over the top of them and weigh ‘em down w a book. Her Dad would be so mad he wouldn’t pick em up for days. There was a minefield of plastic tubs all around.

The other day I came home and there was a damn dish in the kitchen floor with a book on top. She is reliving her youth.

I’m a little shocked she got that close.

There was one on our outside furniture the other night. He jumped before I grabbed him, it was a 5 minute man hunt to locate and throw in yard before she would sit down.

Nope. I spray this around the baseboards and thresholds every 3 months. Most bugs won't make it 3 inches from the contact zone. I don't understand how it works so fast but it does.

Japanese?

You have any Chinese whispering crickets?

I feel like you're making that name up but I'm not sure. Like Honduran humming hornets or some shite.

Tree frogs

On the wall of my shop the other night, just chilling. Gray Tree Frog, first one I've seen in several years. I've heard them, but hadn't seen one in a while. They do change colors slowly to match their surroundings, and are masters of camouflage.

They can also freeze solid during the Winter only to thaw out when it warms up. They have antifreeze blood.

No jumping spiders, but do occasionally encounter a wolf spider indoors. If they’re not in a heavily trafficked area I let them be. Otherwise, I catch them and move them outside.

Mosquito hawks

I learned, just a couple months ago, that what we call "mosquito hawks" are actually "crane flies". I have called them mosquito hawks my whole life and just assumed they ate mosquitoes or their larvae. Apparently, crane flies larvae can be extremely damaging to your lawn.

We have wolf spiders and I was able to convince the wife to leave them be. Until she found a female carrying about 100 babies on her back once and freaked out. I successfully transported all of them outside unharmed.

My wife killed a wolf spider with babies one time. Had a million little spiders running around the bathroom. She won’t go near them now. I usually catch them and put them in the landscaping

Yeah. I got one that lives above my shower. The little perv always comes out and watches me.
