You might also find that a certain pet related cause has an office in DC that is "really really really" nice.
I am all for these groups that bring sunshine into the books of charitable organizations.

All were smaller and local. But you hear rumors about the bigger ones not being much better

There are churches that operate as a business but for those that don't, we offer up money to keep the lights on. The church I go to isn't very large but the natural gas heating bill in the winter is over a thousand dollars a month, I don't remember what the electric bill came to over the summer but it was also a lot of money.
