I provided concrete evidence of the NOLA housing market. Your turn to refute it.

Good for you.
Is that why you defend NOLA ad nauseum?

You provided evidence of homes listed
I have already provided data showing the median listing price is 130k more, or 43% higher than the actual median value
So that is pretty shitty evidence
Booooommm. Numbers bitch

That's a lot of words that don't say $400k is top 3%.

You are asking for something you know I can't provide
You think I'm wrong, I think I'm right. Neither of us know for certain, and We have both presented data that doesn't prove one way or the other
But you are smug as fuxk so you think your shite doesn't stink

Let's Clinton talk about the word "Own".
Do you pay taxes and insurance on it, then you feel as if you own it.
But do you also pay a note to the bank? Then you don't own it and it may be years before you do own it.
Think of property as what the government owns and you occupy only so long as you can pay taxes and not get sued for some stupid fool hurting himself where you live.
Had we held onto our house in the Quarter, its selling price now is a lot more than we got for it. But the difference would go as taxable income with no allowances for the amounts of property tax, insurance, and maintenance costs that cannot be written off against profits. We would barely break even.

Yep.

The irony of this after you voluntarily backed down to top 15% for a moment and are now getting all pissy because I called you out is just great.

You are such a loser
I literally changed to 15% so you wouldn't argue about it for the whole day
But, like a douche that you are, you had to make a fricking turd arse comment when I changed the number
And here we are.
I got lnch'd in here

You're the guy arguing something you say you can't prove in the face of evidence to the contrary.

Your evidence proves nothing more than mine does
Nothing. We are both guessing
The only difference is I admit I am making a guess, and you are adamant on saying I'm def wrong like you just ducking know it all

Right. Over 30% of the market is asking above your number, but $400k value is top 3%.
You can't possibly believe that.
Posted on 9/20/17 at 4:52 pm to LNCHBOX
And the median listing market is 43% higher than the actual average home value....
So that shows how heavily skewed the listing data is

NOLA residents should move to BR if they want a mayoral upgrade IMHO.

Or move from LA totally and enjoy a higher QOL.

Myself, a couple years ago. Never looking back, as a resident anyway. Things are definitely getting worse. Took a historic opportunity to reboot the city from scratch after the Big K and Completely blew it. City in a death spiral.

We live outside the city. I have a great job in the city. My wife has a great job outside the city.
I feel perfectly safe where I live. The schools are good. We are near friends and family. We've lived elsewhere and moved back. Being close to family is important to us.
I am beyond frustrated. I have gotten to the point where I hate going to the city for work every day. Driving home yesterday I saw a lady throw a Popeyes box full of bones out her car window and damn near hit a kid. Animals aren't even that disgusting.
I can get a job somewhere else and make just as much, if not more. My wife (no pics, a teacher) can get a job somewhere else, make a tad bit more... but she would have to start with no seniority and get all the crappy classes, where as now she basically has her pick of classes to teach.
My wife and I are invested in our community, and our kids are a part of it. We moved from Texas back to LA when they were 4 and 1. They are older now, and I don't want to uproot them from their friends and family.
I'm questioning more and more these days. A Charbonnet Mayor will bring back all the worst of the Morial years - massive corruption, etc. But at least the Morial years were pretty safe from a crime POV. Too bad Pennington is dead.
