Haven’t posted here enough to have street cred but you’re describing someone I worked with to a tee until he was found out and fired. He got on with another plant I used to work at and someone passed the word to them over there that he was a fraud and he got canned again. He tried to come back on-site as a pipe fitter contractor but as soon as he was recognized they kicked him out.

Those two really need to be matched up in a Thunderdome. See which one can out-inane the other.

The guy I'm talking about was a contract engineer. We asked the same question -- how in the hell did he pass their review? When he went to the second location plant management wasn't going to do anything about it until an operator raised hell that he damn sure wasn't going to get blown up by a guy pretending to be someone he wasn't. The operator had some political clout in the community and so the plant applied pressure on the contractor to get to the bottom of it. Bam, the guy was gone.

edit: I did a quick search for the guy and his name has two entries pop up. I don't know if there is another engineer with his name in Louisiana, but I hope the guy isn't still out there pretending to be an engineer.

I can't speak to their intelligence, but there are some Indian IT guys that sit on my floor at my office and they do not work. Like ever. Get up to take a piss, they're standing around talking. Get up to grab a bottle of water, they're standing around talking. Go to lunch, they're standing around talking in the spot you left. And I'm not talking about two bad apples or something, it's 7 or 8 of them and they all do it.

let's just say this.
when you call to do an interview of john, based on john's resume and application. it's actually steven. when you can to do an interview with thomas, based on thomas' resume and application. it's actually steven.

and because of thick accents...you can't tell the difference.

the more johns and thomas' these shady IT contracting companies help place at corporations looking for cheap IT analyst positions to fill, the larger cut they bankroll. so they'll advertise john and thomas' fake resumes, then put steven, randy, matthew, etc on the phone during phone interviews who are subject matter experts in the field the the corporations are looking for help in.

me and you don't get along great on this board. but we are 100% on the same page here.

they surf the internet.
put a headset on their head to look busy.
take personal phone calls at their desks.
IM or in person visit with their indian friends.

and don't get me even fricking started on hygiene and kitchen related tales.

and once they get outed for these issues. it's rinse and repeat on the resume, application, and interview process i posted above until they get hired elsewhere.

When employers read on my resume that I "worked for the state," they don't know that it really means I did time in the state pen.
