2 year old.
Many guns locked in my hidden in plain site safe (with lock) 45 in fingerprint lockbox on the nightstand, carry 45 on top of the cabinet in my office where my keys wallet go and 12 gauge on the shelf in my closet.
Well at least that's where they used to be until I lost them in the massive Baton Rouge blizzard of 3/2016
ETA: before kids it was the same

Gun stashed in every room downstairs.
Working violent crime cases taught me it's better to be over prepared rather than under prepared.

House came that way, as well as every other house/apt I've lived in...

This
is a very different thing from keeping guns around your home to protect yourself, your loved ones and your property.

Jesus man, can you read?
You can have as many guns as you want. I said 2 UNLOCKED AND LOADED would be sufficient to protect you. Anything else is overkill IN MY OPINION because it's not practical you would be able to get to them and use them in an actual emergency event. You guys are acting like I'm talking about banning all guns on here
yeah i can read. I think unlocked and loaded i have 8. The rest are in the safe, and all loaded, there is no more room in the safe. So others are on night stands, in corners, behind doors.

Exactly
No one called him anything for NOT carrying. He was the only one being judgemental

not at all. Everyone is just different. I was raised different.. i was raised around guns and its something i enjoy. I only have one of those guns out for self defense, and its the shotgun in the corner. The other guns i keep out for a quick grab if i need to shoot some critters off the porch. I have one handgun that is not in the safe, but i would never grab it in a home defense situation.

So you use two or less guns for home defense? And you're arguing with me? Oh the OT...
And yes, I wasn't considering hunting guns being used directly on your home property. I live in a metropolitan area and that's not the case here.

More people need to learn this. Also, if you keep more than 2 loaded guns unlocked in your house, you are either getting into some shady shite or paranoid as frick.
This might be the most ignorant post in the thread.
shite, I find it necessary to have 2 loaded guns in the master bedroom/closet alone. I have one next to my night stand for me, and one in my closet for my wife (that's where she's headed if someone is breaking in the house).
How are you supposed to know where you will be at in your house when someone breaks in? Who's to say I won't be on the couch watching tv when someone kicks in my back door, which is located between my living room and master bedroom. Who's to say my wife won't be feeding our child at 2 in the morning when someone breaks in? Who's to say one of us won't be in the kitchen getting ready to leave for work when someone breaks in?
Do I keep loaded guns in all of these places? Certainly not, but I wouldn't fault someone who does. If you are going to be prepared, why not be as prepared as you can?

Pistol in the night stand
Shotgun in the closet
Revolver in the truck
None locked up, all fully loaded with one chambered.

My guns aren't locked up. Hell, my kids kept their guns in their own rooms. They were taught at an early age, however, to respect guns and that they were not toys. It was no big deal for them to grab their shotgun at age 8 or 9 and go out by themselves and shoot stuff.

yes, my safe space is more of a state of mind. It's called not being a paranoid frick.
