For $5000, I am spending it on a chick better looking than my wife.

Imagine for a moment, being the type of person who gives a shite about recycling

It all ends up in the same place.

This is not true. I keep hearing this repeated here. Only 25 percent of recycled materials end up in a landfill, and that’s mostly because people don’t know what’s recyclable.

There is a pollution problem on the planet but it’s not one I can solve.

There’s a garbage problem as well.

Where the two meet pisses me off.

So yes, I’m pretty anal about recycling.

If you have central drop-off locations it makes more sense. Put them somewhere like Walmart where people go anyway.

But then few people would do it.

I care more about reducing my use of single use plastics than I do recycling the ones I do use.

i recycle heavily and try to never take plastic bags or excess. I drive a eco friendly car for work. I clean trash up fairly regularly in our parks and trails.

That being said, I think climate change as a political agenda is bullshite and the science behind it is junk. But there’s no reason to be an a-hole to earth.

that’s brilliant
so instead of reducing the amount of waste you know is going into the ocean you double down.

In the break room at my job, the trash can sits next to recycle can. Lazy and dumb asses don't use the recycling one. How dumb do you have to be? And these are health care workers taking care of sick people. I'd like to sic Terry Tate on their asses.

Zero level of deliberate recycling here.

A lot of recycling myths being thrown out here. And I love the attitude of "I don't think it does and good and refuse to believe that it might do any good, no matter how little... so I throw everything in the trash".

So alpha.

It's a zero sum game. The energy required to recycle plastics, paper, aluminum, etc. isn't free, it comes from coal and oil.

My choice is to either pollute the atmosphere with CO2 and the environment with wastes generated from the generation of electricity via recycling or pollute a landfill.

Either way has consequences.

Life affects the environment, and that's all there is to it so I'm not going to stress over the how too much.
