Anybody have any helpful suggestions?

I suggest you research this elsewhere. You’ll get lots of answers here, but some will be bad. There is a whole discipline around this that treats your insomnia in a methodical way. Try to connect with a doctor who specializes in this.

But if you want an amateur’s opinion, exercise regularly, get to your proper weight, eat natural foods high in fiber and protein, take vitamin D, and avoid alcohol and drugs.

Try extended release 5 mg melatonin. I used to hate how I felt the day after until I found the extended release. Sleep like a baby now

Welcome to stress and responsibilities

Just wait until you have to wake up to take a leak at 3 in the morning.

I fall asleep very easy but have a lot of issues waking up throughout the night. I have a CPAP that I usually end up pulling off after about 3 hours of sleep

I spent $7500 on a Tempur pedic and slept on it great for about three months. Now it feels too soft and I wake up with a sore back.

This is me and has been for the last 2.5 years.

It started when my dad was sick and after he passed, it became regular. I will go a few weeks and then I will fall asleep right after I wake up but sure enough, it is almost the same time every night.

I’m sure it is stress/grief related but I’m getting tired of it, literally and figuratively. The lesson on all of these ailments has always been more exercise and eat the right foods. I think it is becoming more and more prevalent as our food systems suck.

Melatonin just helps you get to sleep, not stat asleep. Saw something recently that said what you describe, I also do the same, is caused by glucose level drop I believe. Said having a tiny snack would put you back to sleep. Haven't tried it?

I've tried the Delta-9s, and they do nothing to help sleep. You need the THC.

I only have issues if I fall asleep for about an hour or 2 and my wife or one of the dogs wakes me up, takes me a minute to go back to sleep after that.

I've been like this since I was a kid. I don't think I have ever slept through the night. We stayed at a camp a while back and I was upstairs with no bathroom so I brought a gallon jug to pee in. By the time the morning came it was full. Could have had something to do with the 20 or so beers I had before bedtime.

I have Willis–Ekbom disease, aka Restless Leg Syndrome, so sleep is a near impossibility without meds. I take gabapentin and a 5mg THC gummy every night. The gaba helps with the legs (and sometimes arms), while the gummy helps me relax enough to sleep.

Delta 9 has some THC, but not as much as you get with the gummies you buy in New Mexico. Delta 9 is legal in Texas, so that's what I buy between trips out of state.

From the time I was about 15 years old until I was about 20 I did not sleep more than 3-4 hours a day. I still only sleep about 5-6. Absolutely can't sleep past daybreak without blackout curtains. It drives my wife, who can sleep 23 out of 24 and act like she is exhausted the 1 hour she is awake, insane. I also wake up at the slightest noise. Very light sleeper. I suspect it is unhealthy.

I’ve dealt with insomnia extensively. Based on what my doctor has told me, the most common way that Insomnia starts is you experience a stressful event, like when you dad passes. The stress means you have a hard time sleeping while experiencing the acute stress. Then, if left untreated, it becomes chronic.

I went through Cleveland Clinic’s Go To Sleep program. It’s $40 and has worked wonders for me. Also, I read in bed a lot, and this really helps me go to bed too.

Good luck, don’t let your lack of sleep fester, or it WILL lead to other health issues.
