I was recently clocking in about 3-4 hours each night and never consecutively. Melatonin didn't do anything for me, but working out later in the day (6pm) combined with a little yoga around 9pm and reading before bed helped me at least fall asleep. Good luck...not being able to fall asleep is one of the most frustrating things there is.

I'm nocturnal. I could sleep all day long, but at night I'm wide awake. I've tried everything to keep me awake during the day but I'm a zombie no matter what I take.

Up your magnesium intake. Try to have a little faith in a higher power and give your worries up.

I take 50 mg of Trazadone each night.

I can sleep anywhere.
I like cold room so I put the AC and fan on high.
If I am on a business trip I crank the AC down to 68 even if it is snowing outside. It is real hard for me to go up North during the winter because the heaters make the room seem so dry.
Seriously I just get naked due to I get real hot at night. My wife is cold natured so getting next to her cools me off.
Typically out pretty good from 9 pm to 10 pm and start getting up around 4 am to 4:30 am.

I just get tipsy every night. It works. I mix a pretty large cup of vodka, diet mountain dew, and cran apple ocean spray. Tastes as good as a sno cone and I go to sleep like a fricking champ nowadays.

The solution is a low dose of Amitriptylene, say 10-25 mg. you will sleep deeper and will have no crazy side effects or morning grogginess. It saved my life 20 years ago. Ask your doctor.
