Even worse, some of these same grown men that actually let these college kids playing a game effect their life based on the outcome of that game. How pathetic do you have to be to be depressed or worse because the wrong group of college kids lost a game?

I play video games.

Its only like less than a couple hours a month though. Usually, when the wife works a late shift on the corner and the kid falls asleep early and I'm not tired.

But for that to happen it seems the stars need to align.

A lot of the spec ops guys play video games, much of the regular deployed forces do to...

Hell, in some deployed places they had to ban basketball because of the broken ankles...

This. Anything that doesn't produce any kind of value (physical, monetary, knowledge, otherwise) is pretty much the same thing. Watch TV and Movies, Sports, Video Games, certain kinds of reads (romance novels, comic books, most fiction, etc.).

Now they all might have some small benefit, and those benefits are different, but eh they aren't different enough for one to be better than the other.

on top of that, watching football doesn't require you to think. not all video games do either and i'm not saying it's quantum mechanics, but it is engaging.

I agree. A real man drinks all the time and gets behind the wheel to go run around on his wife. Respect.

i understand there are things i'm just not into and don't see the value but others do...

like people who follow college recruiting. i know normal people who do it, productive, but it's weird as frick to me that a 40 year old man would be worshipping a kid still in high school.

i don't judge people's interests and just assume i don't get it, and i do things that are weird to other people.

i do judge scientologists, bronies, pederasts, trannies, etc...fricking weirdos.

Playing video games as an older person helps prevent cognitive decline which you are already experiencing. You sound like you're well on your way to mental decline.

I'm 25 and I game regularly?

I work 50+ hours a week, I have a girlfriend (who enjoys watching and trying to play sometimes) and I spend time with my family.

So you don't respect me?

I'd say this is no longer true because game companies build addictive actions the games. I'm not saying TV and Books don't push emotional buttons to keep you watching/reading, but it's just not on the same level. It takes a lot more effort and resources to create the same amount of addictive TV as you can make with games.

I basically stopped playing video games 10 years ago because I knew I didn't have time for them. My other distracting activities are much easier to manage.

I think it's weird that people go out and shoot animals but I'm apparently in the minority on that one.

I know these days all these games are played online with people from all over, but that's not quite the same as sitting down with friends and family.

But that's exactly what I'm doing when I'm gaming. My brother and I have known the guys we game with for like 10 years. We may live in different countries but we hang every chance we get.

I'm no casual scrub filth either. I play and win

They had this guy on there who got paid $500k to play games. Is that really a thing?

Yep. Now theres pro gaming events that are televised on ESPN and TBS. Lots of sponsorship money and big stakes tournaments have some guys making a bunch of money playing video games professionally. And the well known gamers make more money by having a crap ton of subscribers to their Youtube channels.
