A buddy just sent this to me. Said they weren't friends but had met several times at gatherings and talked a bit. Guy seemed like a normal easy going dude then he saw this article. Child pornograhy of a 3 and 5 year old. . . who were his own kids. Pretty freaking sick.

Child Sexual Predator Kills Self in Sheriff's Office Parking Lot

Another guy I knew that died in a dirt bike race apparently was a "kingpin" in a drug smuggling ring. Had an office job and appeared to be a straight up dude although my only exposure to him was through racing. Everyone around him said they had no clue and he was seemingly normal.

We had a family tragedy a few years ago. Cousin inlaw murdered his kids and committed suicide. He was the guy that was the easiest to talk to around holidays. We always sat on the back patio to avoid being cornered by our Bible beating uncle. Was on the road to being an ER surgeon. Never suspected he'd one day take the path he did.

Appearances aren't always what they seem. Anyone else ever encounter someone that functioned well in society that had this kind of shocking behavior?

Then how the frick could he have known the dude? To fit the headline of "do you ever really know someone" would be like if your brother (whom you were close to) got hit with that shite. That would be fitting.

I mean shite, half of the guys that play in our group's Saturday money game I don't even know their names... and I drink and bull shite with them for 4 hours every Saturday.

Well if you’d have the patience to read a little further you’d know he killed himself.

I went through Jr high and high school with a guy that I was fairly good friends with. We played peewee football together. He came from a broken family but he had a good head on his shoulders and was a genuinely nice guy. We lost touch after highschool. Last I saw of him was a common friend linking an article on Facebook about how he was arrested for attacking a convenience store owner with a machete in a robbery attempt. I was shocked.

What years were you racing? Every weekend late 80's early 90's I was running at any one of the LA/MS tracks.

My college gf—I really knew her. I even knew what the inside of her bootyhole felt like.

I got a late start for racing around 23 or 24. Started in 2010ish I believe. Took last year off and plan to start up again in a couple of weeks. Only raced a few MX races but have been doing Cross Country since I started. First race was at Freestone. Cross Country race. That was a fun entrance to racing.

you keep giving examples of people you DON'T really know, like in general. My best friend and my wife I can comfortably say I know everything about.

I get it. Crap thread title. In all the situations, the people closest to the people never saw it coming either.

Early on, I did a few enduro races and then went pure MX. Those enduro races are fun but would wear my arse out. Texas has some great tracks. Good luck bro!
