A normal weekday before work, of course not.
On vacation or game day it's fine. But is absolutely not normal for an every day habit. I sure your friend already knows that though.

It can be hard to fall asleep after the sun comes up.

Sure when we go to our beach home in Mexico on vacation and you wake up around 10 AM and it's 110 degrees outside already I'll have a beer with an early lunch to get the day started.
On a typical day? If you do, you're an alcoholic.

On none work days around the house maybe 11am-12 for the first.
Heading out to go fishing, as soon as I stop no matter the time.
In a duck blind.

Summertime, day off, laid the night before, a beer goes into the shower with me.

Have only done this once. It was back in the 90’s when I was in college and spent an alcohol fueled weekend in Panama City. Buddy and I popped a top at 7:00 a.m. then went for a helicopter ride along the coast.

Drinking beer first thing in the morning is not normal... but pouring it over cereal is perfectly acceptable IMO

1. Alcoholics say yes
2..Is there no food? People get into bad choices when there isn't a choice.

Add a ski resort/bachelor party, and that’s the only acceptable answer. Your friend will be in rehab in 1 to 2 years if he keeps this up.

Anything goes in airports.
This is 100% accurate. I'm always amazed when I am at the airport around 8am and there is a bar full of people having a beer with their eggs and toast. And not a single person thinks it's strange.
Time seems to be non-existent in airport bars.

Had a friend that would do this. He wouldn't even get out of bed, he'd just reach over for the warm bottle of beer on his nightstand left over from when he wentvto bed the night before and finish it.
He's dead now. From cirrhosis of the liver.

I actually ordered a double vodka and OJ yesterday at 9 am in an airport bar and it was $19.
