Depends on what it is.
And if you're only taking 2 seconds to wash your plate then you're trashy.

Shocked at how many lazy wasteful people on here
It takes like 3 seconds to put a plate in the dishwasher
I have three teenagers, and two dishwashers. Even if we use paper plates at dinner I'm running and emptying those two dishwashers every single day. Not to mention the hour I spend making dinner and washing the pots/pans/casserole dishes by hand. I'm "making dinner" and "doing dishes" from about 4pm until 6:30 every damned day of the week.
I use paper plates frequently, and trust me, my family is far from trashy or lazy

I run mine once a week when i finally have enough silverware and tupperware to fill it. What i do use still gets rinsed and loaded but id rather run it once a week than once a day. If i cook i plate( on paper) put the extra/leftovers in tupperware and hand wash what i used to cook with before i sit down to eat.

Plates for wife and I. If we have a large group (informal), styrofoam plates.

What do you do with your pot, pan, cutting board, and cooking utensils when you finish eating?
I eat 2 meals a day at home. Sometimes 3. I dont use the items you describe each and every time I eat
I make a roast or a casserole. I can eat multiple meals. I only wash the above once. If I buy a casserole from a deli. No washing. At all
I make tuna salad, chicken salad. Eat multiple times. Wash once
Buy a pizza. Eat more than once. No washing required. At all
Anything like sandwiches, paninis, salads usually involves minimal utensils, which are immediately stacked to await the next dishwasher cycle
It aint rocket surgery

If that were true far far far more water is used making the plates than running a load in the dishwasher or heaven forbid washing by hand

Good thing you don't have to see all the water that gets used in the production of disposable plates and plasticware. Out of sight, out of mind, the ladies say!

IMO it’s trashy as hell and extremely lazy.
I see a side benefit of using paper plates is pissing off Karen. Noted.

Plastic forks are trashy and a pack of forks is like 2 bucks at Walmart
I just use those til they get too dirty and buy new ones

It takes about 2 gallons of water to produce a single paper plate.
Most energy efficient dishwashers can wash a full load of dishes using only 3-5 gallons.
Paper plates do not save water.
