No chance in hell I ever was going to stay in Plaquemine. Moved away in 2000 at 20 years old. I currently live in Metairie.

I have found a lot of people I went to school with on Facebook, and I’m shocked by how many of them are still there or never moved any further than Brusly or White Castle.

Of course not, I grew up in New Orleans, no way I’d live in that shite hole.

I live in Metairie now

I’ve come a long way from Sweetbriar trailer homes off 61. I didn’t choose my upbringing, but I choose my future.

Zero reason to ‘stay loyal’ to something that sucks.

6.1 miles away as the crow flies; 7.8 miles driving

Neither location is incorporated but they are two different ZIP codes and two different community names.

Have you been to Nashville lately, traffic is horrendous with three interstate meeting downtown
When I've been, including twice innthe last 5 months the Nashville traffic has been quicker than Houston's.

I grew up on my family’s farm between Brooks and Smith road. Went to Hardin Jefferson graduated in 99.

Moved to Arizona in 2002 At 20
Charlotte 2006
Baton Rouge 2011
Spring Texas December 2023

I’m not sure I’ll leave Texas again. I may buy a place in the mountains or foothills somewhere but my home base will always be Texas.

Born in Shreveport, left for school (lived in 3 different cities for undergrad and two post grads) and moved right back home. Love it. Surrounded by family and friends old and new.
