Mrs PJ was 1000% my best friend. We naver argued(after I quit drinking) we were always able to communicate about anything. I trusted her with my life and she trusted me the same. I miss her a ton… this is hard.

Same. It’s very different and it blows my mind how many here claim their spouse is their best friend.

You don't explain why you feel this way.

My SO is someone I've been with a very long time. I do have guys I've been friends with longer, but my SO is who I share everything with, the good and the bad. When you get married, you make a commitment to that person, I think there's even a verse somewhere in the wedding where the clergy makes mention of you basically leaving all others to become one.

Is this just some outdated notion now?

I have some very close guy friends, but none are at the level of my SO. I'd choose her over anyone else.

And yeah, being able to have sex with that person is pretty awesome as well, like Yellowfin said.

Plus, there’s no legal privilege to what you share with your “best friend” you aren’t married to.

Yes, I know this sounds cheesy but we’ve been married almost 30 years. I don’t know where I stop and she starts anymore. I surely wouldn’t want to do this life without her.

No, my wife is not a friend. She’s more than that. She’s in a category of her own.

It’s the OT. We’re all perfect husbands, friends, and fathers. Just ignore 95% of what’s posted here

I agree. It's strange how mad some of these guys are getting about it.

I find it hard to believe if these guys got a guilt free trip that no one knew about they'd take their wife. Good for them if so but in some hypothetical world where someone said- I'm going to freeze time and you get a week and you can go on a hunting trip, fishing trip, Vegas or any beach in the world and you can bring one person to hang out with who would it be?

I might bring my wife so I could get my dick wet but ain't nothing like a buddy trip fishing for a few days getting tore up and laughing until your sides hurt. It's so fun when you have that one friend who does crazy shite like hires a stripper to come to the camp or brings a little bag of blow or some shrooms. Just dumb fun shite that you can partake in and not be judged and looked at like an animal.

So much better than a spouse who ask you how much your gonna drink, or has plans and doesn't really care if you object or frankly you have to playcate when they have dumbass plans but you can't say anything or you'll hurt their feelings.

If my buddy is being a jackass or doing something I don't like I can just tell him and not worry about his feelings and if he bitches and moans I can just call him a pussy.

I love getting laid but with post-nut clarity ain't no way I wanna just hang out and do girl shite. I'm a degenerate piece of shite though.
