The aforementioned rationalization and internal justification of questionable actions and wondrous words abound. Return to the path. Your past is aflame.

You're right, man created alcohol, not weed. But yet we glorify being able to get shite hammered but if someone smokes a bowl they're considered a lazy no-good pothead

But that's a different thead!

Drinking isn't a sin. Drink and be merry is in the bible right?! But honestly, no it's not a gosh damn sin. I couldn't function without drinking at least 4 nights a week

Whoa, you missed on this one. Yes he broke bread and shared wine at the last supper, but he turned water into wine at a wedding way before that as his first miracle.

No, but drinking to excess is a big warning sign, especially if it negatively affects your quality of life or your family.

Yep.

Covered under the sin of Gluttony where anything to excess is sin.

Jesus drank wine, and all those visions he and the other prophets had back then may very well have been caused by mouldy bread containing ergot, which can have an effect similar to psychadelics.

It could very well be then that it's the people who don't drink that are barred from heaven.

Of course not.I don't think the Bible says anything about not drinking.

I believe it talks about not being a "drunkard".

Big difference there.

"ergot"

LSD is made from "ergot alkaloids".It's thought that this mold may have caused the Salem Witch Trials.

Drinking is not a sin, never has been, and even baptists and presbyterians who know their God know this to be true.

Getting drunk is.

However, there is one exception to the drinking, having a drink being a sin. Kids not of legal age having a drink against the will of their parents is in fact a sin.

10 commandments tells you that. "Honor your father and your mother"

If mom and/or dad does not want you to have a drink, then having a drink is a sin.

If this is the case, then my entire family is going to be in a hell so hot that it could melt lead.
