Every single night when I get out of the shower. It is sensational.

They should be illegal. They don't have any other use. They scrape and damage the sensitive ear canal, pack in ear wax and cause tons of infections especially in kids. Adults ears are scarred up from them by then

Found the ENT doc.

As long as you're not treating your vestibular system like a hooker on dollar night, you'll be fine.

I use them but only on the outside edge

Don’t jam them down your ear canal. And wet them with hydrogen peroxide it will help break up wax

In normal situations excess earwax should fall out on its own and not build up. Q-tips create the problem. And they will never get the packed earwax
I think this is BS

Two of my kids have had horrible build up of wax and they’ve never used q tips

Qtips: You can only put in the tip, otherwise you're fricked.

I may start hearing sounds from miles away

This is like 2nd grade observation, but when I clean my ear with Q-tip I get earwax on the Q-tip as evidence. That would be earwax deep in the ear canal being brought up from the Q-tip, no?

If your ears are bothering you enough to stick a q-tip in there, there is a lot more in there than just the residual stuff that gets stuck to the q-tip. Flush it out, instead.

Friend of mine stuck a bottle rocket stick in my ear when we were about 6. Burst ear drum, I remember the pain.

I clean my ears almost daily with them after a shower. Maybe once a week at the least.

Don't go to deep. You are good.

All these people that don't use them would probably be amazed at the wax that will come out and how much better they can hear if they did.

Like night and day if I dont.

I dip my Q-tips in hydrogen peroxide before cleaning my ears.

When you push a q tip into your outer ear canal, there is a tendency (no matter how careful or proficient you think you may be) to push accumulated earwax deeper into your outer ear and possibly impact it.

A proper ear flush does a much better job.

I been using Q-Tips for 30 years and had a hearing test last week. Perfecto hearing. At least that's what I think they said.

If you need to clean your ears get a tool called a Spade by Axel Glade. It’s got a bluetooth camera that connects to your phone. You stick it in your ear to pick out the wax and watch the camera feed on your phone, works great

30+ years and counting. I’ve used Q-tips after almost every single shower to both clean and dry my ears. Ear wax/cerumen has never had the slightest opportunity to build up and clog my external auditory canal.

ETA: truthfully most people actually probably shouldn’t use them since they don’t maintain it and keep the canal clear. If you’ve allowed cerumen to build up and impact within your ears, then using a Q-tip isn’t the answer and can really make things worse

They say you ain’t oppost to bc it push it deeper in there. Pushes it real good. Momma always said use a bobby pin and ever so gently “scoop” at it.

This kinda hair pin:
