Was told today that it's not as good as if you were to get it fresh.

I love the ground meat in the tube. When I have people over I say hey I'm making burgers and I throw the tube in a pot of boiling water and when it's done people can cut whatever size patty they want off the log. It makes entertaining a breeze!

I feel like it’s in a tube so I can’t see what it looks like. Hard pass.

It always has some Spanish name here. I feel like I'd be buying some ground meat from Mexico. Hard pass. I can usually find it on sale cheaper at Winn Dixie or Rouses anyway.

For something like game day hamburgers, sure. Everyone's gonna be drinking and you throw a crap ton of toppings on them anyway.

Yes. Along with "luncheon meat" for sandwiches, Vienna sausages, and deviled ham.

Not since I'm out of college. Roommate and I used to eat one a week.

If i have to make a bunch of burgers, yes.

It makes it super easy to produce a decent amount of burgers quickly

I do but I'll say it's a pain. My SO is constantly leaving the cap off and squeezes it from the middle. Who does that?

Honestly, that's probably a safer bet than the package made in most grocery stores. I've seen hideous stuff in some news shows where the butcher is taking scraps off the ground to fill that package and re-labeling the expiration dates. I'm not sure what to trust, but I tend to go with some nationally prepackaged thing like Trader Joe's.

Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble but unless you request a piece of meat to be ground for you at a grocery store, you’re getting tube ground meat. It comes in 80lb cases as 10lb tubes. When they grind meat it’s just cut open and thrown in the grinder and packaged to be placed in the display case.
