Used a huge tube when making burgers for a large group once. Sea salt, course ground black pepper, cheap meat. That's all I used and people all asked me how I made them. I quit caring about trying to get fancy with it after that.

The only beef I buy now is grass fed. Tastes much better.

Those trays of thick premade "fresh" hamburger patties at Sams are sliced tubes.

Not sure if it’s been said, but when you buy ground meat in the pack at your local grocery store. At some point that was in a tube. They just regrind it.

I heard someone say today that frozen green beans weren’t as tasty as fresh green beans in season. Is that true?

My local grocery grinds their own. You can see them doing it and cutting up cows
The whole chickens are not in that bag of swill and sometimes have a few feathers.

I pick out a nice lean chuck roast and have the butcher take it and ground it for me. Most places will do this for you if you ask. You get what you want and it really is better for burgers, meatballs, etc....

I started a few years ago just buying chuck, round, or rump roast when on sale and running it through my grinder at home then vacuum sealing into 1lb packs and freezing. I know what is in there as far as filler. I know I can't control what was put into the beef, but I can control the processing part.
