I get letters in the mail all the time from my alma mater for donations, etc. There is typically little insight as to where the money will go other than a generic type fund.

Usually one time or routinely scheduled donations can be made. I guess some love their university so much, but I have a hard time donating a dime. Since when is my tuition not enough? How do I even know where the money goes?

I’d much prefer to give to more charitable type causes.

What you got for this one, OT???

No, but I stupidly donate to the TAF.

Does that count?

I dont give shite to my undergrad school.

I give money to the merit based scholarship fund for my med school since I got one of those scholarships.

I also give money to my high school as needed for specific fundraising projects.

I would never give money to the general fund of any charitably entity.

I like how my frat sends me letters asking for alumni donations. I no longer need to pay for my friends now that I have money.

Wife gets endowment and sorority fundraising letters all the time. TAF gets my money, and it's a pittance compared to the big shots. My parents used to give, until one day my Dad asked for an expenditure summation of his donations, and they hemmed and hawed around it.

Make your donation to a specific entity instead of just sending them a check without direction of where you'd like to see it go. After donating for three years and finding out much of my "general funds" donation had paid for painting walls and buying furniture, I starting making my donations towards endowed scholarships.

Pretty sad that y’all donate to the failing LSU

The professors at the department of diversity thank you. Your donations have allowed them to teach a class on how to play the knock out game

I'm a Jesuit NOLA alumnus. Not 2 months after I graduated I got a booklet in the mail detailing how I could donate and even set up grants in my name to the school. I've never donated. Maybe I should, but I don't feel too bad about it.

Nope. I gave them enough money when I was in school.
