I've been thinking a lot about this recently.

I guess I do go a certain exten. A macro-Fate if you will. I do think there are random occurrences that may be dramatic.

Yes, but in the purely physical sense, not supernatural. Everything is made of mass. Mass moves in accordance with forces. Even the atoms and smaller whatever’s that make up our brain are simply physical moving parts subject to the law of physics. Did you really decide to read this, or did everything since the beginning of time just lead your mass to be there right now looking at this thread?

In a ways, both. Mostly nature with a bit of spiritual mixed into nature

Not fate but density.

No. An unseen force is not dictating your life. You control your life. You want something? - Then go get it.

I think fate is an attempt to make sense of the awful randomness around us. I prefer to think of the horrors of this world as due to chance rather than some malicious entity directing them.

If we choose to make our own decisions we let God off the hook. So, my plea to the Jury is always I believe in predestination as I swear on the Bible. I mean, then I cannot be held responsible for my own actions.

I believe that God gives of free will to do whatever we like. People always say it was in Gods plans. Well yeah, but. I always think about all the stupid decisions I’ve made. Were they in Gods plans? No, but that other option I didn’t choose was. I just chose to ignore it and let my life blow up in my face at that moment. I strongly believe most of the stress in our lives is a choice.

Every choice you make in life leads to your own fate.

You may make a choice that gets you moving to a spot in life that’s 5 years down the road. You may think it’s fate but actually it was due to the decision you made five years ago.

Every thing that will happen, has already happened.

We live in a 3 dimensional reality and travel through it by the vehicle of time.

Thus, if we exist outside of the 4 dimensional reality into the 5th or 6 dimension, we'd be able to see the timeline from beginning to end. Thus, all of time has already happened, it's just a matter of perspective from which dimension that you are in.

I believe in total predestination. But I live my life as if I possess free will. That's what we're supposed to do.

I believe the people that are part of your family (blood related or not) are meant to be in your life.

If the Universe contains every possible combination of every particle arrangement for all of time, then fate is real, and free will is an illusion.

Agreed.

I don’t think we can measure or predict anything in life on the subatomic level.

However, I do believe we can trace our life’s path through a series of events that lead to particular choices that we have very little control over.
