You're right, everything is great. We don't have a demographic tidal wave coming or anything.

We've always had this problem. 130 years ago it was the Irish and Italians.

Most people get more out of SS than they put in. It's an entitlement, period.

No, I'm not confusing anything. You think you're entitled to something you haven't worked for. That's called whining.
What are you talking about? Please explain what you think I think I’m entitled to because I never said I wanted anything. Surely you don’t think my support of keeping 6.5% of my paycheck is entitlement.

We have legitimate demographic issues looming, but you'll be dead before things get bad.

A good bit of the millenials on this board go on and on about how Boomers should retire so that they can get theirs. Well guess what, Junior? That's an entitlement mentality.
And I never had a chance to decide on Social Security, that was done in the 1930's under Roosevelt. I have, however, voted against every tax increase I can recall. So your bashing of Boomers doesn't wash, it's a generalization you can't support.
You would be better served by using the term "Liberals", they're the ones who've been perpetuating this crap for over 70 years.
I'd like to have that money back also, and BTW, it's 7.62% if you include the Medicare portion.

If you want to hear some staunch support for socialism, just tell a boomer Social Security is welfare.
It's not welfare because they are being paid back based on what they paid in. It is a ponzi scheme though.

You keep calling people out for being dems then ask what's wrong with more Mexicans?
Mitt Romney summed it up nicely in 2012. Educated winners like me aren't breeding enough compete with the low rent trash. Idiocracy is coming.
Also, can you say, with a straight face, America will be fine and dandy when whites are no longer the majority?

The answer:
The feminization of America.
The feminist movement has given us total domination, by women, in the educational institutions. A male principal or superintendent are becoming almost extinct.
Everyone passes and gets a trophy, so we don't hurt feelings....stifle the testosterone and you get socialized compliance.
Women as fireman, police officers, & military. Research the stats....women, on a percentage basis, suffer in these fields way more than their male counterparts.
Sorry PC culture but SOME women are not cut out to be Navy Seals.

Correct, Mexicans and Filipinos are a necessity. They'll also be relatively successful

I said me. Not your anecdotal “good bit” of my cohorts. I have no competition with Boomers in my current career and I’ve never complained about it. By the time I get to where the Boomers are now, the last of them will be moving to FL or the mansion in the sky. My competition is with Indians, so if you want to talk H1B visa reform I’m all ears.
You view SS as a lost battle, and that’s not an insult. I’m young and naive enough to think it still warrants a discussion, with the ideal option being allowing individuals to “opt-out”.
It may just be a pipe dream but I’m not giving up.
And I’m not greedy enough to steal the Medicare back. That’s just mean.

I agree that it shouldn't be mandatory but allowing young people to opt out would collapse SS because it's a ponzi scheme. They need your money to pay back the current retirees whose money they've already spent.
