No. In general, I don't associate with people outside of my immediate family face to face. I'm very anti-social.

I'm more likely to associate with clients and contractors.

Same. I cant bear to be around industry meetings. Some of the people are fine, but overall it’s annoying

I have a great working relationship with nearly all my coworkers. We get along fine, respect each other, and work as a team well when needed…but I have nothing in common with these people

I’m an outdoorsman, I like to go out and catch a concert or go to a baseball or football game…these people are all nerds, like anime and wouldn’t know the difference between Derek Carr hitting a homerun or throwing a touchdown.

Other than the people in my immediate office, I want even speak to them outside of work.

I have said numerous times that I plan on telling them when I retire, if you see me in Walmart or somewhere, walk the other way!

Hell yea the annual catfish farmers of America convention is a blast The one in Las Vegas a few years ago was awesome.

Dang, that triggers a memory for me from the past - my first conference as a young professor right out of graduate school was the annual Catfish Farmers of America in Las Vegas - and yeah it was a blast never having been there before. I had to give a talk and came down with laryngitis during the conference before my presentation - made it even more fun, I sounded like a frog.

Sure many of my closest friends are individuals from my profession, and we seldom talk about work when together.

You probably don't have to tell them this.

I'm good at maintaining working relationships and can do a lot of joking around or whatever, but I'm generally not trying to hang out with the vast majority of them outside of work

Rarely.
Overscheduling, working seven days a week, mean I can't go to meetings and conferences. Being a librarian, I despise the ALA and all their "advocacy" so I want no part of them. I might not mind the theological librarians' groups, but not an ALA convention.

Musicians, that's a bit different, I wouldn't mind that provided that most are not TOO snarky and bitter.

I'm a business owner so while casually speaking to them and being friendly at HBA meetings, they are my competitors. I do hang out a little with vendors and such but my circle of friends are my family. I have 3 brothers, multiple nephews and a few cousins that I socialize, and fish with.

Also pretty tight with Sunday School friends.
