My wife won’t eat anything I cook in a Magnalite pot because it’s aluminum. I told her go check the active ingredient in her deodorant.
She says that aluminum is OK, your body absorbs more from the food because of the heat when cooking. She gets her smarts from her mama.

I figureI have30 years tops before Alzheimer's rots my brain. I've seen it happen so much I just expect it. Also everyone in my line has had cancer or tumors so I have that to look forward to too.

Somebody gave me some of that natural deodorant as a gag gift. I threw it in the bathroom drawer. Ran out of my regular and decided to give it a try. Around week two I noticed my armpits were stained brown, a couple of days later the lymph nodes in both pits got swollen and really sore. I thought I had cancer for a week and then realized I was using that funky stuff. Stopped using it and everything returned to normal.

Here's an alternative theory...

The human animal was never designed to live as long as we have stretched life expectancy.

We were designed to make it to mid-40s, tops. At that point, being weaker and slower would make us prime targets for culling either by disease or competitors (other animals [including other humans]).

Perfect example...CPAP machines. Humans with sleep apnea would die in their sleep, or from other health complications stemming from the condition (or from the causes of it). Now, there's so many of them out there that you see ads for CPAP system cleaners on TV all the time.

The human body is like any other machine. Even with the best maintenance, the longer it runs and the older it gets, the more problems you will have as long as all the equipment is original.

I spent about 10 minutes googling Natural brand before reading the rest of the post

I’ve tried switching to non-antiperspirant deodorant a couple times, but I can’t bring myself to trust it. I’m not a particularly sweaty person; I’m just paranoid about smelling bad and know antiperspirants work without fail. I may pick up another crystal today and try again. Lord knows my brain needs all the help it can get.

Native is a brand I use and like. I’m not an armpit sweater so I only need a deodorant.

Guy at my work believes its bad and uses natural stuff. He smells absolutely terrible and everyone laughs at him behind his back. During summer he smells like a old pair of shoes. My theory is that after a few weeks you get use to the smell and then think the natural deodorant is working.

People are looking for explanations for "issues" arising when people hit late 50s onward.

My point is that maybe it's just because humans are going beyond their designed operational limits.

Think of a computer that you buy today (Year One, Day One). Even if you do every update and guard it against every possible virus and malware, sooner or later, with regular use, it will fail.

Or, a car. You buy a top of the line ____ and you meticulously maintain it (best gas, oil change every 1500 miles, don't overrev the engine, no jackrabbit starts or riding the brakes, etc.). Sooner or later, with regular use, it will fail in the absence of wholesale replacement of parts over time.

In other words, perhaps it's time, and not aluminum.

I do think time and a mix of variables is a contributing factor, but science points to aluminum playing a major role in it.
