re: Do you accept the notion of the Big Bang as the origin of our universe?

I think theists should just stick to the "why" of existence and let scientists explore the "how." They'd be much more content in their lives and threads about science wouldn't be littered with their futile attempts to discredit new discoveries.

What were talking about then?
Something that is provably false.

Provide any testable, observable, direct evidence of any deity whatsoever.
Any.
We will wait.
Any.
We will wait.

Ha.
If you have anything to do with the physical modeling community at all, you know this is a mendacious statement at best.
The literature is jam packed full of 'answers' based on untestable and unobservable events because they occur at energies orders and orders of magnitude larger than the LHC is capable of producing and in regions far, far away from our observable universe.
I understand it's difficult to discuss these topics with the non-scientific crowd, but you can't resort to these types of statements that suggest that all of our answers thus far are 'based strictly on what can be tested or observed.' Extrapolation, stochastic modeling, and educated guessing are ubiquitous throughout the community.

That’s what I’m asking. What is it you are saying is “provably false”? And what is this proof you speak of?

Why didn't you respond to me?

Seems to me a theist would be interesting in discovering the rules of the universe their god set up.

Proof of God? You see God in His creation. If you don’t see Him it’s because you reject and choose to not see him.
But if it’s scientific proof of God you want then you’re going to be sorely disappointed. The belief in God is based on faith. And without faith you cannot comprehend or have any sort of relationship with God.

Speak for yourself, I certainly don't feel that way. I don't need a deity creating me for a specific purpose for me to have a purpose.
Moreover, with respect to Christianity, your purpose is to praise God 24/7. I'd rather have no purpose than a silly purpose.

His answer was "we don't know but we're working on it".
If that's not a good enough answer then nothing will be.
If people had your attitude of "you don't know this so science is bullshite, we shouldn't accept anything" then all of human progress would have stopped before it started.
You're a blow hard who talks more than he listens and thinks that his ignorance justifies his beliefs.

Ok let's say I agree that we just need to have faith, why have faith in Christ over the thousands of other deities?
I accept the faith requirement, but how do I correctly aim my faith?

We don't live in a body bound by a 2D world. The proof is physics, and I'm not giving you a physics lesson.

You poor stupid pathetic fool. You are so intent on trying to “get me” you’ve fallen for the same trap as him. My whole point was the believers in the Big Bang all heap scorn or believers in God because we have no “proof”. But yet you and your fellow hypocrites refuse to admit you require as much or even more blind faith to back up your own belief in creation as does any religion. You claim to base your belief on reason, logic, and science. But whenever someone points out the inconsistencies in your arguments, instead of using the logic you claim to love, in you cling to your blind faith as much or more tham even the most ardent Christian that you hate so much.

Honest answer? There is no way to know for sure. That’s what makes it faith. All you can do it study, pray (and i mean really pray), and chose.

Sure, it's fun. It's fun to imagine being able to make money appear. It's fun being able to imagine that I could manipulate things with my mind. It's even fun to imagine there's a magical person in the sky who really cares about me.
Those things are all fun to do. None of them are things I find useful. If you do, so be it, but don't tell me that I need to find them useful.
