I use a pedestal fan as my sleep machine. 2 for 1 deal.

Yes an app on my phone which you can pick surf, rain, wind, campfire, storms, creeks, etc. or any combo. Helps with the tinnitus I've picked up being an aircraft mechanic since 1989. I cant sleep when its too quiet. The silence is deafening.

Yes, but it's otherwise known as my wife snoring.

Thankful for sound apps and travel-size noise machine as hotel AC units are a bitch to keep running all night without freezing up...

I use an actual box fan. If we lose power in the middle of the night and it goes off I instantly wake up.

If it is in your budget I suggest a Dyson fan, I have one in my living room and one in the Master bedroom. Cleans the air, good steady white noise and no freaking blades to have to clean.

Man I stayed at a hotel in Alexandria that the ac unit was so freaking loud I was more worried for the neighbors than myself.
I sleep with earplugs in....

We have one in every room of our house now. We could probably be robbed blind in the middle of the night and not even notice because it sounds like a Boeing 747 in our house.

Listen to waves crashing all night either on the machine or on my app if traveling. Also must have a fan of any kind or forget it.

I got used to machinery noise underway while in the Navy now I need the sound to sleep. Plus I have awful tinnitus and when it’s silent that is deafening.

Agreed. I actually used to get excited when I'd travel somewhere off the beaten path for work and have to stay somewhere with these sorts of AC units. The ducked systems in regular hotels don't get the room nearly cold enough, and they make almost no noise.

For those of you using an Alexa or phone app set to white noise, brown noise or waves crashing — try Green Noise. Adds a little more bass and has been great for my bilateral tinnitus induced by combat in Nam.

Also, I add a tower fan, ceiling fan, c-pap machine and Ambien so it might not matter what color the noise machine spits out.
