Was your dream about "The Notebook"? Are you Noah?

All I know it is the worse thing I can imagine. Please take my body before my mind. I watched my granny suffer with it for over 10yrs. Not remembering a single person, all her children, siblings, etc. God gave us the blessings that she was as kind and loving with dementia as she was before. A truly loving person.

Don't know. My Dad died of Alzheimers at age 79, in 1985. His mother was a Cherokee Indian. While in the hospital, he began to sing an Indian lullaby that his mother had sang to him as a baby.
There was a man , apparently an Indian, outside his room, that recognized the tune. He asked, who is that Indian in the room?

Why do a lot of them feel the need to strip and go out in public?
My grandmother did this towards the end and I’ve been told by friends whose relatives have it, they do the same.

The dude is throwing bondo under the bus as we speak, after all that’s why he hired her just like everyone else whose lives he’s destroyed, but he doesn’t give a crap.
This is unacceptable….

Dementia, of which Alzheimers is only one kind, is a lot more than memory loss. Simple memory loss is a lot easier to deal with than hallucinations, loss of executive function, lack of impulse control, and the list goes on. Someone can be profoundly disabled by other symptoms and still have relatively intact memory.
One thing that happens is they can't distinguish dreams from reality. My mother would dream about something and think it really happened. She woke up one morning in tears because "the wedding is off." She dreamed one of her grandsons had broken off his engagement. In reality he wasn't engaged to begin with.
Having dealt with it up close, I won't put myself through that. I have my exit strategy planned.

I dreamed a dream in times gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung
No wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came
And still I dream he'll come to me
That we'll live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be
So much different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid

My dad at 94 could hardly put a sentence together while he was awake. But he talked in his sleep as clearly as when he was much younger. Heard him in his sleep tell his mother not to leave without him. Next day he was up early packed ready to go with his mom and dad.

Magats don’t seem to understand that Sleepy Joe was replaced by Creepy Don. Biden was the oldest man to take office before Creepy Don trumped him. Trump will be 82 in 2028!

rstand the experience. It would be absolute torture to be aware of what’s happening as it happens.
I think I have mentioned this here before. My grandmother was in her mid 90s when she died in 1986. For a good 5-6 years before that her memory was gone (Alzheimer's, dementia, something else I don't know). She didn't remember that my grandfather had been dead nearly 20 years and would ask when he would be home. If you told her he was dead she would break down crying thinking it had just happened and you were breaking the news to her for the first time. There were also times where she would start talking to people as if she were a little girl back in England, saying that her parents were looking for her and she needed to go home.
Anyway, told that part to get to this part... about 6 months before she died one of her granddaughters and her husband went to visit. For about 10 minutes it was like the fog lifted and she knew who they were, what was going on, etc. She told them that her life was very frustrating because she knew the answers to questions she was asking or remembered things but her body/mind wouldn't let her process it. Like she knew when she was asking for someone who was long gone, her subconscious or internal self knew they weren't alive, but her conscious self couldn't control the asking. After about 10 minutes the fog settled back in and she was like that until she died.

MIL has early onset dementia….Sorry arse FIL took off Thursday and moved in with his kids. POS left before we could even get down there. Found out today that he has plans to go tomorrow with his kids to pick up his things while we both have to work. We’ve basically bought their groceries and things for the last 4 years while his kids did shite for them..he pulled half of their savings and told her to put the house on the market…guess he forgot their house is in my wife’s name. Sheriff deputies will be there at 8:00 I case shite gets outta hand

Alzheimer’s is like a shotgun to the brain in my experience. Those memories may be there but buckshot has passed through them.

ALS does not affect memory so it is quite different. Being aware does make it hard to handle but I THINK I would have a harder time forgetting my loved ones. It must certainly bring a level of frustration one not suffering from it could never comprehend,
The latest research has found that some do have cognitive impairment of the frontotemporal type, although for most it's mild to moderate LINK

Joe was brought in because he was the best chance to defeat the scum even though he was past his prime. The best part was is that it worked but the downside was he was not able to hold up long enough to keep the scum out again.
Now we have the worst damn thing I’ve ever seen in my life as far as running this country. Anyone who disagrees with this is either a worshipper or uninformed. We are only 7 months in to this nightmare and it’s going to get worse. Buckle up boys, get ready to ride alone because the rest of the world is making other plans without us.

Trump is China’s biggest asset. He is handing control of the world to Xi Xinping.
