I see people with First Ascent down jackets every now and then. I didn't realize it was an Eddie Bauer brand for a long time

Yeh, but if go back even further, Banana Republic morphed into what they are now from something similar to the old Eddie Bauer

Loved the original Banana Republic when they sold stuff like surplus Israeli army utility pants.

I have a few pair of Eddie Baurer shorts that I'm hanging on to. Can't seem to find a decent replacement.

There's an Eddie Bauer Outlet in Foley, AL that is great and has great prices. I wear pants and shorts from there many times during the week. I'm also somewhat of a clothes snob.

I've always considered their First Ascent jackets when shopping for outdoor gear.

Looks like some decent down jacket deals on their website right now.

Good friend of mine in high school had one just like this.

He had true dual straights on it with no catalytic converters. Loudest thing I've ever heard. He would sneak out in 10th grade to go to parties and we would have to push it 3 blocks away before cranking it up

Since they still have stores, I'm going to venture a guess that people do still buy their stuff.

Not that you mention it, I haven't seen/heard about much lately.

So true. I haven't been in the mall in Lafayette in years, wonder if it's still open there ?

I still order stuff online once or twice a year. Their wrinkle free button shirts are amazing.

I also have a down “sweater” that packs to the size of a softball.

ETA: Stay away from most of the cheap Eddie Bauer branded stuff at Sam’s. You get what you pay for.
