Do people have premonitions?

Yesterday marked the 15th anniversary of the death of my nephew, Kenny. Around 11:30pm, he'd just dropped off fiancé at her house and was headed home, when he lost control of his car and struck an oak tree in northern Washington Parish. There was no drugs or alcohol in his system and the cops don't really know why he lost control, they seem to think maybe a deer or animal ran out in front of him and he swerved to avoid it.
Anyway, his mother claims that something woke her up around the time of the accident and she immediately knew something bad had happened to her son. An hour later, they found out that their son had been killed.
To this day she still talks about that premonition she had that night. I can't really say if she had one or not. Just because I've never had one doesn't necessarily mean other people don't have them.
Your thoughts?

wouldn't this be a post-monition?

No, but I get the feeling they will in the future.

Bam Margera said he went ape shite and tore up the inside of a cab. Smashing screens and tearing the seats up for no reason.
Then found out later on it was the same time Ryan Dunn died in a car crash.
According to Bam though, who at the time was basically a junkie.

Sounds a bit far-fetched to me too.

I certainly believe they are possible. Things in the universe are connected at a quantum level, so to say 100% either way is short sighted.

One of my great-uncles was wounded at Iwo Jima in World War II. Took a bullet in the leg. This is my grandmother's brother.
My grandmother told me that she was at home with her mother, who was sitting in the living room, knitting something. She stopped knitting, and in a calm voice told my grandmother "Your brother has been hurt. He will be okay, but he was just hurt." She then went back to knitting.
Sure enough, they got the notice about a week and a half later, saying he had been wounded on the day my great-grandmother had her premonition, and was in a hospital in Guam. My grandmother swore this was true, and there was no reason for her to make something like it up.

Just got to this weird feeling over me that Tiger Ree started a shitty thread on the Tiger Rant.

I always wonder how many of these incidents leave out the 500 previous times the worrisome mom/wife/etc. worried something bad had happened (and hadn't).

Precisely.
For whatever reason, we love counting hits but are great at forgetting all the misses. Add that to the fact that everyone thinks they're super special and random chance could not possibly be the plain old explanation for THEIR thing, and you get stuff like this.

Yes, I've experienced it several time.
On one occasion my child woke up crying and screaming in the night and begged to sleep in our bed. Never did that before, and never since.
At about 4am, my car alarm went off. Someone had thrown a rock through the window and took her purse out of the backseat. Not much in it but gum and stuff. But all they saw was the purse, and wanted it.
