It's Birmingham.

Damn that menu really looks legit. Again, not dying to visit Birmingham, but wouldn’t be upset if I found myself there just for that meal.

Dunno. I've always loved Louisiana.

I was born in Alabama and I live there now, but it has a lot of pretty serious problems that aren't going to be solved anytime soon. That said, I don't get the kick out of continuously hating on it that Louisiana residents seem to get out of bashing their home state. So yes, there really is a significant degree of difference.

I actually have a lot of hope for the new mayor. He's done some smart things that indicate a turn toward better government. Certain parts of JeffCo government and the city council are just going to be awful for the foreseeable future, though.

Arkansas overall is OK, just not the eastern part where I am from.

There has been de-evolution going on for decades where the smart people who don't have a family farm or business to inherit leave.

and Walmart took care of most of the Mom and Pop businesses 30-40 years ago.

Haven’t spent a ton of time in AL but the time I have spent there is enough to know it’s better than LA.

AL certainly isn’t at the bottom of every list like MS, AR and LA are. It’s more in the middle of the pack.

That being said, I’d live in metro Birmingham, Huntsville and possibly Auburn/Opelika areas. (I may have butchered the spelling).

The state seems to have a lot more positive going on in it than Louisiana has.

Nice place... I would consider moving there when the time comes.

"hate"? No

I'm glad I left and wish I'd left sooner, but that's more about where I ended up than where I left.

Birmingham will probably never reach its true potential for the same reason Baton Rouge won’t....race baiting city “leaders” and rampant culcha.

You're making a strong run to replace TDcline as the resident LA shite talker

Did y'all share a girlfriend who got railed by a dude from Breaux Bridge or something?

Also, do you live in OK?

With my job, I literally could live almost anywhere in the world. We did move around a bit, lived all over Europe, then back to the states. By the time I came back, my entire family had bolted to Fairhope from Mobile. It was great, but we decided that Orange Beach was better suited for me because of my fishing addiction. We have been here a few years now, love it. I still might get a summer place in Montana, it's a little too warm for my taste about now.

How does stating the obvious make me the resident shite talker?

Alabama is better than Louisiana. It’s not a far fetched statement. They have better things going for them. It’s a fact.

You were on the SEC rant talking about how much better Biloxi and Ocean Springs are than anywhere in LA.

You honestly don't sound very knowledgeable about it tbh

Also do you live in OK? Because that would make all this even more hilarious
