I'd rather live in the worst part of Louisiana than the best part of Houston.

For some odd reason, people who live in LA refuse to acknowledge the absolute shitshow that is that state.

Scruffy was born there. It has elements that he loves, and he loves going back home.

He has no desire to move back there though.

The economy is terrible, the infrastructure is some of the worst in the country, and the government is bottom of the barrel on all accounts.

The only thing that Scruffy is sad about would be the distance between him and his family.

The fact is, the state of LA is damn near the bottom in every measurable characteristic available.

Hell, it is ranked last in nearly every poll related to “happiness” as well.

Maybe you should let you family and friends know exactly what you think about Louisiana everytime you visit them.

Alabama is a whole lot nicer than Louisiana so it isn’t an apples to apples comparison.

Why does it bother you so much that people think LA is not that great of a state?

That’s just dumb, I would take somewhere I can afford of my choice in Louisiana over the same in Houston though or pretty much anywhere in Texas for that matter. Only difference is I have attachments in LA and zero reasons to go to Texas.

Lol no, I would say the same for Alabama as above.

West NC or North Georgia are the only other places I would seriously consider actually moving in the south from East Tenn though.

They aren’t defined by the state.

If you are unable to recognize the massive flaws that has caused LA to fail on nearly every stat, that is on you, buddy.

Why do you define your existence based on the state you live in? Why does it bother you?

Nothing Scruffy said was incorrect or mean spirited. Don’t know why you seem so personally offended by it.

The people are the worst. Louisiana has the whites of Missippi and Arkansas and the blacks of Memphis and Chicago. Hands down the worst government and people in the country.

Alabama has some really nice areas. Southern Baldwin county is a great place to live. I like orange beach, gulf shores, the fairhope area, and even Foley a lot. My family lives there and frankly I would be happy living there is I could make a decent living there. Pitiful job markets there though. Good luck finding any 6 figure jobs and having any sort of successful career in those places. But still great places to live modestly.

Besides Nola and a few costal fishing town the entire state of LA is a dump.

Alabama offers both beaches and mountains but a majority of people there for the most part take away the glamor for what the state offers.
