That counts. In a city of 25,000,000 you will have all kinds. When I lived there 26 years ago, I got all KINDS of stares and hostility, until I broke out in Spanish and spoke better than they did. The looks I got were priceless.

Depends which part of both countries you are in.
Northern Italians look and act a lot like Swiss/Austrians/Bavarians. Southern Italians and Sicilians...not so much.
A lot of Spaniards do tend to be very European (as opposed to Mediterranean) looking. Look at the Gasol brothers - if they'd been plucked out of England or France, I wouldn't know the better.
