Well then why would they say that they're still paying off their crimes? I mean they're our allies so what would those guys stand to gain to say that knowing that it wasn't true?

Maybe they're ignorant?

Maybe I am?

Not sure, but I have certainly read that they no longer pay.

Maybe. Is there a way to look up if they are or aren't paying?

Reparations basically ended with reunification...

But just Google it, it's actually a hot topic.

I've met several Germans and I've never seen one get upset or quiet when discussing the war. I've even met one that believes that the Holocaust was much smaller than stated numbers.

The people I spoke to were in their late 50s. Maybe that had something to do with it. At any rate, it was just an odd reaction.

Guess you were right, although I did just see the headlines that Poland wants Germany to pay em. I'm honestly shocked that Germany never did pay Poland.

They did, but some time in the 50s, Poland was influenced by the Soviets to tell Germany that they no longer required reparations.

I'd bet Japan doesn't talk much about the Rape of Nanking

They also make us out to be the bad guys for them basically forcing our hand to drop the bombs. frickers, y'all weren't gonna surrender, we were gonna have to kill millions of y'all's people and get hundreds of thousands of ours killed.

In all honesty, our firebombings of Tokyo and other strategic targets probably did more damage to the Japanese than the bombs.

I got to visit the memorial and museum in Nanjing last year. One of the saddest places I've ever been. Government officials from Japan still come every year and hold a ceremony in remembrance.

Was about to post about Generation War. I watched it not long ago on Netflix and loved it. As for other German War movies, “Downfall” comes to mind. I also watched it on Netflix and was impressed.

When I was in Germany, I traveled around 10 cities and towns and they all mentioned how awful the holocaust was

While you might disagree with the conclusion....no seriously, they are that bad.

It is illegal for any game for instance to have any Nazi symbolism or references in Germany.

And if so, what are the stories like?

In Japan, the films (correctly) place the blame for the dropping of the atomic bombs on a whale and a dolphin.
