This has been covered many times over the years.. i didnt click on the link, but IIRC the exact location of Disney World was going to be in Lacombe, LA... but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

Not surprising given the state is in the bottom of the barrel in terms of education... Hey, got my undergrad at LSU, threw the deuce left. Would have loved to base it in my home state, but you people vote for morons. Edit: Oh and Roemer (the Buddy and Chas variety) own the YOUNG TURKS!!! Think about that.... Bunch of commies down on the Bayou. Louisiana is quite possibly the most unAmerican, crony capitalist commie place in the US. Sad. Keep voting MAGA at the Federal level though... I actually appreciate that.

As someone who was born and raised in Baton Rouge and also a big Disney World fan, I'm glad they ended up in Orlando...it would have folded after 20 years here

It would’ve closed so quickly in La. we can’t have anything nice. I saw that Orlando was the most visited tourist destination in the entire world last year. Imagine if that crowd came through nola how many would be mugged or shot

This is why Louisiana's economy will become a cross of Western Europe (tourist driven because of NOLA) and Appalachia (heroin and ambulance chasers) if the voters don't fix it. Your state sucks and you keep electing crappy people who don't care about Louisiana but only care about filling their own pockets.
Louisiana is home, but I left because the economy sucks for educated folks. The plant/oil jobs are great, but there aren't a lot of white collar options. Louisiana's GDP per capita has been falling for the last 8 years... sad to see such a beautiful place full of culture run into the ground by idiots. We could have had DISNEY!!
