I think Disney creates these controversies.

Should've been Amber Heard. Disney fricked up. Again.

Breaking news, Little Mermaid dies in live action production because she couldn’t swim...

while she would have had the look, for the most part, no way Disney is touching Heard, with the shite with her and Johnny Depp going back and forth still...

Not all mermaids, but "The Little Mermaid" maybe. Original story was by Hans Christen Anderson, a Danish guy, so the original little mermaid was white. What if they had a white girl play Pochahantes?

Main issue with this is that black people don't like to swim.

All that matters imo. Is she the most qualified? If so then it doesn’t matter her race

Let's not pretend like Halle Bailey is this A list big time actor who Disney simply couldn't pass up for the role.

Yeah no shite. A high school in town is predominantly black and has a great theatre group. Wife and kids go every production. There have been several Disney ones and the last was the little mermaid.
Daughter is 9 and that's her favorite movie. She didn't give a shite the girl was black and wanted to take a picture with her after. The production was jam up.

The box office numbers will tell them why this was a bad decision. It’s about staying true to the original.

Kids want to see this movie... Kids don't give a damn if the mermaid is black, white. pink or orange.

Not all kids are as mentally deficient as you are.
“Mommy, where’s Ariel? Is she behind the black lady in the lifejacket?”

Correct.
But the parents and other adults that grew up in the 90’s do.
Me and my wife don’t have kids yet, but love these types of remakes. Not sure if I’ll go see this one.
