re: Disney World is way more of a Demeaning and Dehumanizing Experience Today

As someone who's been over 20 times and as recently as 2020, I completely agree. What has taken place just the last few years has made the experience much less fun and ruins what used to make it magical. The price, having to schedule every ride and moment, the cast member turnover and understaffed and simply being unhappy.
It used to be work to simply schedule the flights, parks, restaurants, and fast passes. But you were done 60 days out and once you were there, you just enjoyed it without having to think too much about this or that. Now you have to be in your phone ready to schedule and plan almost constantly. And I'm paying more for tickets? More for individual rides? More for food? And getting less for all of those things? frick that.
Same. We've been a ton and there's definitely a huge difference in the experience these days. A big part of it is the college program used to attract the best and brightest from all over the country. Now it's mostly the Disney weirdos that just want to go live @ Disney for a few years.

Too many cool places to go rather than Disney, even in Orlando. Id hit up Busch Gardens, Sea World, Universal in that area before I did Disney. Silver Dollar City, Dollywood, Cedar Point, Hersey Park...all of these places are fantastic and not feeding the Disney monster

The Little Mermaid ; we had a secretary who decorated her desk with memorabilia from this movie. She would tell us that it was the greatest movie ever made. I avoided her.
Ariel is a stupid spoiled bimbo who sells her soul and her kingdom for a hunk of man meat she’s never even met. I think The Little Mermaid is still a good flick, but Ariel just almost ruins it. Unquestionably the worst of the Disney Princesses.

They don’t have them walking around these days? That was half the fun just running into random characters in the park and getting their autograph.
They’re on balconies or roped off 20 feet from everyone due to Covid. They’re also rarely seen.

There are tons of reasons not to go to Disney but this ain't one of them. Those other places would sell their souls to reach Disney status. They just can't.

For a few months after they first opened back up it was actually a nice time to go. No lines anywhere and the employees were over-the-top nice.

Where’s the fun in that?

It was years and years before Covid when they started setting times and rope lines for characters

I mean you can have a fantastic time at these places which id argue are more fun than Disney. Im not sure what else to say. Im not talking about making some kind of ideological stand, just a place to have fun with your family.

I rarely ate dinner at Disney except for some snacks or a more upscale restaurant available. My daughter has that place down and 11 of us had a blast. My daughter used the Disney app and scheduled all of our big rides and hit other less crowded ones in between.
Me and my wife bowed out around the 7-8 o'clock hour to go eat a nice meal off park grounds, and the rest stayed till closing the three days we attended. I was pleasantly surprised how smooth it went and everyone rode all the rides they wanted to. I felt we got our value out of the cost vs park experience.

At least then your kid got to actually take a pic and get a signature. Now they're kept away like royalty.

We are going end of May / Beg of June. Wife and kids (no pics) have been several times since COVID but I have not.
Ticket prices are crazy and at this point I'm hell bent against paying for Genie+ / Lightning Lane.
We are staying 9 nights but only have 5 day park tickets. Planning to do non-park stuff on a few days.
The wife (again no pics) is a huge Disney Fangirl so she looks past all the supposed service issues. I'm not sure I can do that.
Hoping with some breaks built it it won't seem as crowded / crazy.

That’s similar to the way I feel about flying now compared to when I was a kid flying. You were once treated like a VIP, and now, you’re just cattle.

Well, you made the comment about not feeding the mouse. That's an ideological stand. I simply reminded you that those places would kill to be in Disney's position. Nothing personal.
With that said, you can still go to Disney and have an absolute blast with our family. We do it all the time. Disney, even in it's current state, is unlike any other vacation destination on earth. I just don't understand people that constantly bitch about it. They don't FORCE anyone to go...... yet.

So you'll pay $180-225 or so just to park now. It's really gotten out of control.

Everything Woke eventually turns to shite. Wokeism is truly despicable.

Do you know the owners of these places? None of these places have done that. Disney has been sowing bad seeds into American society for decades.

Not if you get the VIP service.
