He got a 22 in 7th grade. I'll report back when he takes it this year

But my son doesn't go around bragging that he's smarter than everyone

The talk of how the ACT measures your base intelligence is laughable considering the Science section required no actual science application

The science sections is ALL application, just not knowledge based. You fail at trying to argue this point. Unless things have changed since I took it in 2008, and Im assuming it did not since I took it each year from 7-11 grade and nothing changed other than the additions of a mandatory writing sections.

You guys are funny. It's a game and a game i have to master unfortunately.

False foreshadowing of accomplishment. Although I believe you are capable of anything you put your mind to, you sitting here saying "unfortunately" I have to figure is shite out proves to me you wont. You wont work diligently at this, which is sad, because you already have an above average score (as sad as that is) in this state. You could easily improve it with hard work, but I could nearly guarantee you will beat off and not get anything done up until the few days before the exam.

Guys, no lie. I scored a 35 while on meth, 1 hour sleep, and blind in one eye. Second time I took it sober and scored a 37. They were so impressed they just awarded me an extra point.

A practice standardized test score can prove if someone is dumb or not?

You came up with this conclusion. You typed it out and everything.

I went from 24 to 29. It's definitely possible.

Why don't you argue for a better score?

When you brag about how you're going to score a 170+ on the LSAT and then get a 24 on the ACT, I can draw a pretty fair conclusion about your intelligence

I took the ACT twice. The first time I got a 26. The second time I got a 29. And I didn't study for the ACT either time. In my limited experience, it helps to take the test once and then take it again, because you know what to expect.

*practice act

You have no reading comprehension so your statements are just full of air bud.

I never bragged. There is a difference between throwing a hypothetical out there in order to garner more info and gain new outlooks on your future and being boastful

Here's some advice: log off and actually study.

And if you scored a 24 on a practice test, your real score will be lower. I hear community college isn't so bad.

They take the same questions from the real act and transfer them onto the practice

You're trying WAY too hard

othing you just said has anything to do with standardized test taking ability and base intelligence.

The LSAT is basically an intelligence test. It has nothing to do with law.

I've taken legitimate IQ tests and tested into gifted classes with "intelligence" tests. I've scored in the 140's and 150''s on those tests. Like you said, it's not necessarily about what one has learned, but how smart one is. You are given puzzles, asked to count syllables in a sentence while being timed, etc. Basically things that measure your brain capacity and ability tfo "figure things out". I did well on those tests. I did not do that we'll on the ACT (although I never attempted to take it twice). So I say you are wrong. I think ACT measures what you memorized for your high school tests. There's a lot more to tap into if you bust your arse in college. Those who can memorize can go to med school even if they are really not that smart. Those who are actually gifted might have been lazy in high school and never learned calculus. But they may get off their asses in college (slowly raises hand)
