Took my first crack at the ACT and and scored a 24. With studying can i lift my score up to a 30? Or is the ACT pretty accurate on determining your level with 1 sample?

Depends on how smart you are, 24 might be extremely high for you.

Jumping from a 24 to a 30 would be a pretty big bump. Were you pretty even across the board or weak in one specific area? I need more information. You can also get some general ACT test taking strategies that are super helpful. I teach this to my high schoolers every year so try and give me some more information.

That would be a pretty big jump.

Maybe like a 26 or 27, which is plenty respectable.

Don't worry, you're above average compared to LSU students. You'll have no problem being accepted there.

Lets be real... You scored a 19 and want to bump it up to 24.

You can always improve on standardized tests simply by knowing the format and understanding how to answer questions efficiently.

Hey man, I hate to tell you the bad news, but if you're scoring a 24 on the ACT right now, getting a 160 on your LSAT is going to be your approx. max down the road.

I remember you asking about law schools in a prior thread, so plan accordingly.

Mine jumped 5pts from the first to the second testing. No studying involved, just jr. vs. soph. year.

30 in reading

28 in english

16 in math - just mentally quit halfway through and didn't bubble in rest of the answers.

Science 23 - didn't bubble in the last 10

you can lift it.
Don't let a 24 bring you down, just focus on the sections you did poorly in and retake it.

Take the SAT unless you are content attending one of those shitty instate schools.

First time I took it I got a 22, took it like 2 months later and got a 30. Didn't study for the second time, didn't go hungover the first time or anything like that I just went and took it. Sometimes it happens that way and sometimes man you just have to admit you're dumb.

Just to add this in, the girl I was dating at the time was a year younger than I was. Graduated saluditorian. Took it one time and got a 31 I think, didn't ever go in for a second time. That absolutely blew my mind haha.

this is where you fricked up. Never leave any answers blank, it's not like the SAT where you're penalized for wrong answers. ALWAYS just guess man.
