It's not a perfect system but it's vastly superior to it's typical alternatives.
Edit - we don't really live in any sort of "capitalist" state either.

What did Trump do that is on par with this?
From what I recall, people were pissed of that Trump, the alleged dictator, didn't act like a dictator and forcefully shut everything down using violence like the left wanted to do (and did do in several states - except for violent blm riots).

Best system ever devised.
Nothing meets the needs of the people like Capitalism. I'm sorry if you're not fit for it.

America is being eroded away at alarming speed. It happened under Trumps watch as well with all of his bots twisting logic and reason to rationalize everything he said or did.
Here’s something Trump never did though: attack the citizens at large. He attacked illegal immigrants, sure, but he pretty much left everyone alone except for elected Democrats, the media, Big Tech, and Rino bastards. I remember once Trump was just railing into Pelosi, and then reached out to the citizens of San Francisco and asked them is this what they truly want and what has this witch done for you? All she’s done is destroying your beautiful city so why not elect me or another Republican to save your city that she destroyed. That’s not an attack on Pelosi’s constituents, he’s just pointing out that she’s failed them.
This administration directly attacks its citizens a hundred times a week. They call half the citizens idiots and deplorables. They have absolutely no empathy for the common man. Ahnold this week said frick your freedoms. Joe Scarborough mocked a person whose taco truck was burned down by BLM and said thats completely insignificant compared to lunatics storming the Capitol building, despite the fact BLM did that to State Capitol Buildings throughout the country. These are tyrants.
I think it’s essential DeSantis is elected President in 2024. Trump is way too much of a risk and way too divisive I think to appropriately lead the country or guarantee an election win. Everyone had an opinion on Donald Trump before he ran for office. People are just hating DeSantis right now because Chris Cuomo is telling them to and they haven’t listened to anything that has come out of his mouth. 2028 it will be too late, our country will be gone, and China will have won. We can still take this country back and defeat China, but 2024 is the last possible moment we can turn this around.

It's interesting that none of the board leftists (I mean moderates, totally!) have addressed the topic of this thread. They've instead elected to attack other posters or tried the "muh Trump" argument. It's a no brainer topic.
No one should be OK with calling those people terrorists. But this administration just did.

Meh....these motherfrickers have a 2 hour response time on fricking murder calls. Do you think they will be able to guard every random podunk country road to keep some ol' baw from going to TN from AL?
You don't understand. Leftists don't care about murder. In fact, they actively hope for more violence and dysfunction. What they DO care about is the primacy of the government. That's where their resources will go. So, yes, they will man state line checkpoints while people are getting butchered by the score in the cities.

They're simple foot soldiers of the revolution. They simply say and do what they are told.

They're going to love 2022 then.
Hopefully it cost them the midterms.

In the past, conservative thought used to pair individual freedom with personal responsibility. Now, it is all freedom and no responsibility.
Classifying anti-vaxers and COVID deniers as terrorists goes to far -- I completely agree with that -- but it has become very clear that collective voluntarism has failed during this pandemic. We cannot count on people to simply do the right thing for the good of the public. We've gone from Rosie the Riveter to whining about masks and vaccines. SAD!

Yeah, no longer friends with this guy, but this is how I lost a friend through Covid. He and I both left China as libertarians, but he moved to San Francisco and that city has turned him into a full blown foaming at the mouth communist. How you can live in China for 3 years and see the same shite I did and come out a communist is beyond my comprehension unless you yourself seek to rule over your fellow man in that manner (he works in Big Tech). He was supporting the BLM rioting and said any level of violence they were doing was because the cops or the Proud Boys attacked them first, which is clearly a blatant lie.
Then David Dorn was murdered in the riots, and I surely thought he’d be appalled by that. Then he said the most evil thing I’ve ever heard and certainly from someone’s mouth I once considered a friend: “Well he was a cop from the South so he enabled white supremacy, and he should have had the wisdom to let them take what they wanted, so whatever.” He excused the murder of a stranger in the same manner the average person would excuse Fred Goldman if he killed OJ. It’s at that moment I realized he had become a genocidal lunatic. He not only justified a murder there of an innocent person, he effectively in definition called Dorn an Uncle Tom. Told him our long friendship was officially over due to that extremely racist and heartless opinion over a man he had no idea who he was, it’s just cop so he deserved to die in his mind.
If people think like him take over (let’s face it they pretty much have), then they’ll intentionally kill millions of people. First they’ll “allow” you to become their slave and be in constant apology mode in a Maoist struggle session for the rest of your life. If you don’t agree to that, they’ll throw you in the gulag. If you don’t agree with that, then they’ll shoot you in the face and as you’re bleeding out the Woke Gestapo will say “Should have had the wisdom”. These people are the least wise people on the planet. Many of them may be intelligent, but personally I find a man content with fishing on lake on a sky blue day with a mid level IQ to be much wiser than someone like Jack Dorsey or Mark Zuckerberg. These people are evil.

I disagree
Conservatism doesn't change, conservatives did. Trump never was a conservative.
Liberalism never changes, but liberals did. They became progressives.
Both parties are a pit of groupthink and not worth fighting for.
