re: Dilemma with Expense Receipts being turned in...

My employees turn in their expense reports weekly for me to approve. I turn in my expense reports (and I rarely have them) to my boss at the end of the week as well. No one told me to do that, but it's a courtesy to him much like its a courtesy for me from my employees.
If one of my employees did what you did, I'd make sure you got paid, and then made you never did that again to me. That also depends on what kind of employee you are. Judging by your tone in your post, you sound entitled.

Thats bc you are stupid.
My last two jobs, I turned in bi-weekly exp reports that usually ran around 3k bucks a month.
If his was 1200 for the fricking year, I can see why he didn't prioritize it.
With that said, get your money sooner rather than later.

I wouldn't pay you but I'd have also had a policy in place.

Why would yo not pay the guy?
Are fking stupid or just a dick?
He had the receipts, they are legitimate and turned them in before he was required to.
I swear, some of you people get off on being difficult.
Prob a cashier at circle k.

You should be apologetic, maybe even offer to eat it. Make it known it wont happen again. Youll get reimbursed and won't burn bridges.

You two should work together!

Well for the second year in a row our location has reached the highest percentage over quota out of over 100 locations nationwide. As the branch manager, Id say that Ive proven the ability to do something right.

I've never seen a policy like that. Ours were always in by the 10th of the month or you didn't get a check that month. And you couldn't submit anything more than 90 days past. I get that it isn't much but I would expect people to stay on top of it.

Boss probably gets a bonus on reducing expenses. He was counting on you not getting them in because if he reimburses your expenses, he misses an escalator clause and a big bonus.
I bet you forgot the cover sheets on the TPS Reports too!

I can assure you that I am far from thinking Im entitled. My whole premise on this is the idea that you can all of a sudden make up a rule that Im not able to be paid.
Look I get it that I shouldnt have held them. I have assured my boss, as well as his boss (the a-hole VP), that it will never happen again and they will be turned in monthly from now on. But in my opinion, especially since this is a publicly traded company, it doesnt seem like you can not be paid unless there was a policy already in place.
Ive been with the company for a few years before it went public, and for the 5 years since its been public. Nothing has seemed to ever been different as far as turning in expenses. Get them in before end of the year closing or else you lose them. And I did that.

How old is this feels like you are in the wrong. It is expenses that need to be approved how can a manager remember shite you did 10 months ago. Plus there is the issue of have they paid you for this? Plus you throw off accounting BC expense wasn't recognized in right period

I totally 100% agree with you. But thats the way the company still seems to be managed. Im hoping that with a new CEO starting this year things will really change and not be run in such a small company manner. We shall see though.

Just take a little arse chewing they know they have to pay you. You are at will employee probably so they probably like you to keep you.
They just want to know you will do expense regularly in the future ideally prior to month end. Quarters being more important
