yeah, you deserve to get paid, but you also need to be told that you have zero common sense and bringing up the 'oh it isn't in the handbook and they making up rules' makes you sound even dumber

No it shows that I know what is right and wrong. Whats dumb was waiting all year to turn in expenses. I will not and havent denied that in the entire thread. Im not the kind of a-hole that would ever threaten to sue the company over 1200 bucks like some people would. But I also dont feel its right for a company that prides itself on integrity to do something like that.

As Ive said before, if they want to come out with a policy for this year stating a certain timeframe to turn in receipts then by all means, do it and I will abide by it.

Here's the reason why what you did was wrong.

$1200 may not be much at your level, but if what you did were common practice it would add up. And suddenly your boss - whose job involves keeping a sharp eye on expenses - is facing expenses he didn't know about. It might impact his performance review and bonus.

If I were your boss I'd be pissed too.

I don't like last minute shite paperwork. You should've turned them in monthly.

Plus you said it was a "whopping 1200 bucks" so if it's no biggie, you need to eat it.

Hard to believe they don't already have one. They dam sure should.

It's 1200 bucks and you're making a big deal out of this?

I love it when people say this and completely ignore the fact that the company who brings in millions is balking over $1,200. That's like a $2,000 pay check when you take out taxes, 401k and shite.

That's why I have a corporate Amex. shite goes straight to accounting and I don't have to worry about. They send me an email asking me to verify expenses and all I do is check the yes box.

As the branch manager, Id say that Ive proven the ability to do something right.

Update this in six months. That new divisional VP has several relatives that would love to have your job.

You are using logic and that does not apply when someone wants to replace you.

Why would yo not pay the guy?

Are fking stupid or just a dick?
He had the receipts, they are legitimate and turned them in before he was required to.

I swear, some of you people get off on being difficult.
Prob a cashier at circle k.
Who's being the dick here?

You've obviously not had to deal with supervising adults and deadlines in a workplace. I know there "was no dealine" here but common sense says to do otherwise.

And it's not always a matter of expenses being legitimate when it comes to reimbursement.

Accounting and VP are probably kissed because they know they are about to get dinged on audit.

We turn ours in every period, they were due today from period 1. If you don't have them in on time, it comes out of pocket.

Really isn't a big a deal. I used to just do them every Monday so I never got behind.

I agree it's not a big deal but you sound lazy and forgetful. Maybe they just don't like you and want a reason to get rid of you. You didn't forget. You jut waited until the last minute on purpose. There's a difference.

accountants/controllers bitch so much when you inconvenience their spreadsheets. It's hard as hell to find ones that can handle adversity and thrive.

What the hell are you talking about?

Sorry I have better things than to drop what I'm doing to determine if your expenses from fricking last January are legitimate business expenses.
