The state or maybe the city (I get them mixed-up) owns it.

It's hard for me to believe that some multi gazillionaire hasn't developed that into something like a private luxury community.

I wonder who owns the land.

I've heard of it. Pretty sure it was a quarantine island and Typhoid Mary died there.

I think I've seen reference to this place on some TV show.

Love this stuff.

Urban exploration would be fun.

The danger comes from encountering derelicts, venomous snakes and dilapidated structures.

It's government-owned and they don't usually allow people to visit. Plus it's only 20 acres in the middle of a river and most of the usable area probably has buildings with asbestos.
