How far back did you have to go to dig this thread up?
Bored and this board is as close to a time machine as one can get.,,,especially to see the change. (Blame the OT Baller thread earlier tonight for my curiously.)

Had to shave starting before Ninth Grade.
Could grow a hipster beard in Ninth Grade.
Shaved pretty much daily for High School.
At those days, me having a hairy chest served me well with the ladies.
At age 15 I was able to get a job during my Summers/Weekends/Christmas break at Halter Marine where I was supposed to be 18 years old.
Made relative bank in High School there.

Grew a goatee my freshman year in HS, 96-97, mostly because I was one of few that could

I've not seen my upper lip since the summer before the 8th grade. Shaved daily ever since then unless I let the beard grow. Had a full beard end of sophomore year.
ETA: Some of you must have gone to school in China during the Mao years, no sense of Freedom whatsoever, being forced to shave by over reaching school systems.
When I was a freshman the only place we could NOT smoke was in the classrooms (shop classes could so they were popular: auto, small engines, welding, metal, wood). We could smoke in the buildings and all over campus (except the greenhouse). By the time I was a Senior though they had limited it to about half the outdoor areas only.
There was no age limit on tobacco purchase, 18 for alcohol, no seatbelt laws, no helmet/pads for citizens on wheels.
It was also after the Sexual Revolution and Pre AIDS so biggest worry about sex was having to go to a clinic for catching the crabs or a rash.
We had guns in our cars/trucks to go hunting before/after school, carried knives in our pockets or some had them sheathed on their belts.
We could load up a pickup bed full of people and go throw a party at lunchtime. That's right, people could ride in the bed of p/u's.
Freedom! It was good while it lasted.

Had to shave my mustache once a week or so or they’d give me the disposable razor to use
That shite sucked

I didn't start shaving until after college. I didn't have bad acne in school, but after I shaved my face would always break out so I just kept the beard trimmer on them for the 5'clock shadow look

On a serious note, I had a friend die of melanoma. The lesion was hidden under his beard. They didn't catch it until it had metastasized to his brain. He was 30 years old.
Even if you have a beard, you should completely shave it off ever so often.

Facial hair was not allowed in school back in the day. I shaved for the first time in 7th grade. My dad said I needed to clean up for school pictures. When I was finished it shocked me how much hair had been on my face. I looked like a ghost for a couple of days.

I never shaved in high school, kinda crazy to me that school systems can force kids to do that.
At the same time, I didn't have a lot of facial hair either. It didn't grow nearly as fast as it does now. Whenever my dad would take us to get our haircut would be when my facial hair would get shaped up to look nice.
I have never in my life shaved everyday. I dont even know what my face would look like 100% shaved.

Not until my Senior year. But I remember playing Oachita Christian in baseball like my Sophomore and Junior year and those dudes were jacked AF and had full goatees. Looked like some day pro players. They definitely had some good “training cycles” established.

I had to shave my senior year of H.S.- hated the feeling, never shaved my mustache again! That was in 1974! Had a full beard most of my life since then...

Yeah, they used to send us home to shave. Once they caught on that we were taking advantage of it they would give us single blade throwaways and hand soap. After a few destroyed faces, you learned to shave before school

I didn’t start shaving until sophomore year of college, and even then it was like once a week. I have a full beard now though. Never want to go back to shaving every day.

Hell naw. I barely have to shave now.
