I did

Met a chick I ended up going on my first date with, making out and getting handsy in the movies

Good stuff, that church camp

I also used to get cooked bacon from the mess hall and catch hella catfish off the dock. Loved that camp

Same. Only ever got the first names of camp girlfriends, so I couldn’t even try creep on their social media if I wanted to.

Camp Abbey in Covington is Catholic..

Not saying Catholic camps don't exist, but I'm saying my family was a typical Catholic family. Restricted to staring at your feet for an hour on Sunday so others in town could see you at church.

You know, standard practicing Catholics.

I once joined church youth group just so I could go on the annual trip to Six Flags.

We had people like that. A group of 4 girls. Rather hot. Mysteriously, they'd start showing up right around December 1st at activities and services, go on the trip to Gatlinburg or Colorado then.... nada until the next December. Unless there was a Saturday trip to Pickwick or Heber Springs to go skiing. They'd go on those. And it was a good thing.

That was the only youth group activity I did in my church.

I loved church camp. The guys would play sports all day while the girls....sat around and watched? Had to be a boring 3 days for them.

Church camp was where I learned to play, I think those priests cheated though.

Bear Bryant's last game was on November 6, 1982, that's what started the death spiral

Me too. But had Baptist cousins who wrangled an invitation for me for 2 summers at a camp in or near Dry Creek. Don't remember the name of it but it was nice clean and a lot of fun. Good and "educational" times for an 11-13 year old....
