I’ve driven through blizzard like conditions in the dead of night from Breckenridge down to Pueblo. Multiple times.
I get they (CO) manage winter conditions but it’s still sketchy.
This weather didn’t spook me one bit.

Drove the 2 miles or so from the hotel back to the plant. Road was pretty crunchy.

I did. Wasn't too bad. Will be going in chains if I have to go somewhere today though.

Bunch of GWagons and Wranglers driving around.

No, zero desire.
I went for a run, wife and I went for a walk. Other than that, stayed in finished Season 2 of Shrinking, ate a bunch of chili, did some laundry and made a shopping list for my skit trip next month.

Gas stations are open around me. Gym was closed.

I walked around the LSU lakes and most drivers were cautious. There was a single Cadillac Escalade doing at least 40 down Dalrymple. Barely a care that he was on ice.

Drove to work in Slidell - short drive but was icy...

Of course I drove. Probably going out in a minute just to cruise around.
If you are scared to drive in these conditions you are a massive pussy.

I drove to go sledding on the levee. The experience to me was worth the possible loss of a $10k vehicle

This. First stop was the empty parking lot to practice a few recoveries. I wanted to see how far i would slide in a full lock.

Between midnight and 1:54 am I did not drive today. Next question.

After lunch I drove to Rouses. The hardest part was getting out of my driveway.

About to leave the house.

I drove last night, made it home safe. Was able to leave work around 730PM. Made it in less than an hour.
I drove a 20+ yr old miata, did just fine. My son wanted me to leave it and come get me in the truck, but no need. For one thing, no reason for him to get on the roads too if he doesn't have to.
Second thing is the miata is RWD and a standard. I didn't touch the brakes the entire drive home, just used the gear ratio to slow down when needed. Bluebonnet and Airline were fine.

Plus what's the sense of having one of the most capable 4x4s if you don't get to use it when you need it.

My wife and kids drove me crazy.

We stocked up on essentials to get through tomorrow, so no reason to get out unless it's necessary. Like many here, I have seen my share of snow so there is no curiosity about seeing it in the local area.

Four wheel drive is great for moving in the snow. It does nothing to help stop you in the snow/ice which I think most of the people have a problem with down here.
