We would drive out to New Orleans east because the gas stations didn’t give a frick and would sell to us. It was much harder in St Bernard.

I’d have a beer with my dad every so often but never drank in HS.

My parents were really strict so I really didn't drink outside of a few grad parties here and there. I always mortified of getting caught.

we went to a place on side of road by elm grove... a one room shack with card tables..pool and bar... we could see through the screen door..

we would sit there until a patron walked by and then start our deal making... usually cost us two our three bottles of boone farm for them to get our supply...never once did we ever get cheated.....i was 14...my brother 16...

The better question would be "Who didn't drink alcohol in high school?"

I did not drink. But I smoked reds and chewed Red man.

I was more wild in high school than I was in college. Got it out of my system early.

Legal drinking age was 18. So damn near half the Seniors could go buy alcohol.

This. It wasn't hard to go to a bar at 16-17 when the drinking age was 18. 16, hanging around and drinking. 17, going to Shreve Square under the Texas St Bridge.

Yep. I had enough facial hair at 15 to look 18(that was legal when I was a teen) so I was usually tasked with buying it. We’d pool money for the finest, I’m talking 40oz 8ball, peach AND strawberry boones farm, and if we’re really flush with cash, nighttrain. Whatever we didn’t finish Friday night, we’d hide behind a headstone at a cemetery. Did this all through high school. As crappy as cold 8ball was, imagine flat 8ball that had been sitting in the sun all day.

Yes, the drinking age was 18 which I turned midway through my senior year.

Not a whole lot most of those years. REally ramped up second semester of senior year though. Prior to that I'd only been drunk a few times. I preferred the weed. Still do actually.

Yes, but central AC and heating were still a few decades out.

I drank occasionally in high school, definitely after I turned 18, the local bars didn't care as long as you were 18. Before my senior year, I smoked marijuana more than I drank, because oddly enough it was easier to obtain, but that was still probably only a once a month kinda thing.
