The reason the Japanese attacked us is because we stopped selling oil to them and they had no choice, the United States knew that it would force Japan to attack us before the embargo was put into place. The Japanese didn't really hate us, hell after we dropped nuclear bombs on them they still surrendered to us. They could have surrendered to Russians and became a Communist state.
