Just took a leisurely drive around the neighborhood. The area bounded by Drusilla/Norfolk, Downing, and Westminster took it on the chin. Trees down on hoses, cars, all that. There's roofing/siding scattered about even outside that area. Looks like the school itself may have taken some roof damage.

If you go over to the Pine Park half...looks like they got a stiff breeze. A few small branches here or there but that's it.

At Essen/I-10, same boat. Apparently there are trees down blocking my neighborhood in but I didn't get that far on my tour. Snapped power pole with lines down in the road, roof debris everywhere. A structural support beam from someone's roof is embedded in a neighbor's roof like a spear. Almost everyone has big branches or trees down on their house or in their yard. Power's probably going to be out for some time.

That house with the spear through it was for sale, apparently the closing was supposed to be Friday.

It looks like it was pretty short lived. We live right NE of there in the direction it was heading but there’s no damage around here. The winds were still swirling and whipping though. You can see the strong signature pretty clearly when it was around Essen/I-10 and Drusilla. But it fell apart pretty quickly as it got to I-12.

I live right where Drusilla turns into Norfolk. I'm so close to the impacted area, but have no damage. I'm very thankful, but a little bewildered. and it is horrible to see all of the damage sustained.

did diane deaton have a stroke? or did she come to work drunk or hungover?

She spent at least 30 minutes staring at her montior and mumbling incoherent shite over and over. matt and lauren even tried to cover for her.

Yeah, it really shows just how unpredictable weather can get. Best guess based off of what I saw I think it either touched down or came close near the part of the neighborhood closest to I-10, did its thing and then pulled up roughly around the school and gradually "got better" as it left the area. Luck is the reason why I only had some 3-4" branches down in the backyard instead of a tree through my house. (I'm near Baker/Fleet)

I left for work at around 4:45, heading west on I-12 coming from Juban. Somewhere between Oneal and Millerville the bottom fell out. I could only drive about 30 MPH, and no one was passing me.

A co-worker who was passing Seigen on I-10 said there was debris everywhere when he passed. And said his mom told him recently that I-10 is now shut down because of wrecks everywhere (near Highland). Anyone have any info on this?

This isn’t exactly her strong suit. She’s better pointing at maps and telling you it’s going to be a sunny day. The strength of this wave of energy was pretty unexpected because WAFB would have had Jay or Jeff in the studio.

Not totally unexpected. You could tell last night that there was tremendous energy out in the gulf heading this way. The spin up that moved through the BR area was even visible over the gulf last night. No way they didn’t know the possibility was there ahead of time.

SPC has us under the lowest severe weather threat. Thunderstorms were going to happen but no one thought tornadoes were going to roll through town.

I don’t know why, because that spin up of low pressure in the gulf was moving toward the coast at an angle and fast. I saw that last night and figured there would be some decent friction with land that would occur. These little quick quasi-tropical spin ups happen every year somewhere along the gulf and Atlantic coasts and usually come in stronger than expected.

The pros flubbed this one. Can’t blame them much though since these things are fast-evolving events.
